But, on the good side, they have a lot of books and documents that are hard to find.

Good to know! I looked all through their FAQ and even read their Terms of Service and could not find what that * meant!

I found the * on the website, Nicole- it states **Access an unlimited number of books and audiobooks; restrictions on some titles may apply.Terms of service,Details here
Can anyone tell me how much it costs per month? I could only find the "gift" prices?

" two audiobooks or reading three ebooks per month"
As a big audiobook user, that seems disappointing.
I've had Scribd for 4 months now and I have loved it. Far cheaper than audible. That being said, they do not have everything on there but I am really happy with it. Try the 30 day and see what you think. That's what I did and I decided I loved it.

There are several books available that have insanely long waits for at the library that I am excited to dive into. Definitely less expensive than Audible and I may keep my membership for a couple of months as I work through some I have been very excited for!

So, I joined Scribd back in March and for any audiobook listeners who are contemplating joining, I say do it!
I LOVE Scribd! There have been a few books that I have not been able to find, but the vast majority of what I want is available. Caveat: I do listen to a lot of mainstream contemporary literature that is new releases. But, you can always try a free membership and poke around the offerings before deciding for sure.
In fact, I have only downloaded one book from Audible since I joined and have a backlog of credits there, so I just suspended my Audible account for 3 months.
Just something to consider if you are looking for a less expensive option than Audible or perhaps have an extra $9 a month in your budget and want to supplement what you get from the library.

On the other hand, I'm also finding the past year or two, I'm having a harder time getting my hands on audio books from the library. They've been much more popular, so there are so often holds on them, when there didn't used to be. At least not so many!
For $9/month and 2 audio books, that's pretty good. Plus add in 3 ebooks... I try not to spend more than $5 on a book, so even ebooks I only buy on sale. This is tempting.
I'm at least going to take a look. I read through the thread originally, but didn't really investigate.

Oh, wow! Even better still! I guess the $9/month would work out a bit more for me with the exchange rate (I assume that's US dollars), but overall, that would still be pretty amazing. Maybe I should at least do the trial...
Hmmm, had an additional thought. Can these audio books be transferred to an mp3 player or does it have to be used through an app? That might decide it, as well. Not having a smartphone, I do want something I can transfer to my mp3 player, as I'm not going to carry around my tablet while doing housework or yardwork!
Thanks! I will peruse the info on the site, as well.

Well, the site talks about the app, but I haven't seen mention of mp3 players. I've sent in an email question to see if they can let me know. It just won't work for me if I can't transfer it to my mp3 player.
Thanks!
There are some books on there that I definitely would like to read, but many that are not.
Though, I will say their search function is horrible. I search for titles and it tells me there are no results and then I find that book on a list when I am just browsing! Case in point: Daisy Jones and the Six. That audiobook is available but a search does not bring it up. I found it browsing a random list of titles.
