Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 2908 comments Opening Survey
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? New Hampshire
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? I'm, kind of excited about a lot of them! But I really want to read The Complete Persepolis
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? Homemade guac and tortilla chips. I make a darn good guac if I do say so myself. ;)
4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I love my diggity dogs!
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to? More reading, less listening.

I woke up a little over an hour before start time and still didn't have time to do this before the 'thon started. lol. So I'm doing it an hour in while listening to The X-Files: Cold Cases.

I started the morning with a headache so blah! But I took Tylenol, drank coffee, and now it's gone. We got SNOW last night, lamezore, but it's gone now and will be 60 degrees and sunny! Oh New England, you so silly. I started reading a physical book and started listening to an audiobook. My hourly discussion is done and I can stay away from the laptop until each check-in. Or try to. Ha! I think this next block I will read some shorties from my KU collection. I only have about an hour left of X-Files: Cold Cases so I will finish that first since I want to shower.

Halfway mark. This is where I start to lose it. It's full dark now. The night is where I struggled the most! I'm thinking of making myself less comfortable? Don't go pee as much, don't get back into my PJs? Eh, that's just silly, why do that to myself?! That's not fun! lol. Supper was delicious! Still plan on snacking on hummus and veggies later. And keep snacking on my cappuccino beans! This next time block I want to finish The Girl Who... and get started on some graphic novels! Maybe half an audiobook.

Comments:
I actually felt better once I got up from my library and checked in at midnight and ended up staying up till 2:40am, plowing through books! Woke up at 6am to finish out the 'thon an decided to dedicate those last 2 hours to solely reading. Combined my last 2 check-ins. I have so many threads to update now for various challenges. But I'm going to take a nap and then do said updates while watching TV. Ending Survey and final tallies to come!

Closing Survey!
What hour was most daunting? Always the wee wee hours but I stayed up later than I ever have for Dewey's!
Tell us ALLLLL the books you read!

What was your favorite facet of the day? As much as I "complain" about spending too much time on Goodreads, it's so much fun to be a part of this day and community and feel so connected!
Wanna volunteer for our next event? I might do an hourly discussion again.
