lethe | 16359 comments Hi Gabriella, since both books are from the same publisher, it is very well possible that the same ISBN was used twice.

In cases like these, this part of the Librarian Manual applies:
it may be that an ISBN was reused on a completely different book. This shouldn't happen because ISBNs are supposed to be unique, but exceptions have been found. If that is the case, manually add a new edition to the database and add the ISBN to this edition in the ISBN field. Remove the ISBN from the older book, and in the Description field, list the ISBN and state that it is an older book and that you are moving the ISBN to the more recently published book. You can also use the Librarian Note feature found near the top of the book edit page to add a note to the book. (https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/8...)
Since they both seem to have been published in May 2018, I would just add the ISBN to the description of https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4... and add a librarian note, not move the ISBN around.

If you are not sure how to handle the request, you can always leave it for a more senior librarian. Only do stuff you feel comfortable with :)
