I’m looking for something very similar to John Green books, particularly like Paper Towns or Looking for Alaska. Doesn’t have to have a lot of romance in it though.

I'd say All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven :)
I really liked Again, but Better by Christine Riccio a little cliche but has a great setting and likeable characters.
What If It's US by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silveira was great too, it's a very cute and easy read for sure.
