SOLVED. Pregnant woman is walking in a snowstorm and seeks shelter in the hero's barn.

A pregnant woman is walking in a snowstorm and finds a barn so she goes inside I think she maybe a n labor too but not sure about that part. The hero comes out to feed or check on the Animals an finds the woman. He sees her house n labor an takes her parents into his house and he ends up delivering the baby. But because of the snowstorm they have to wait till spring to get them to town. One day the hero's brother shows up and we find out that he is actually the father and that he and the woman had a plan for her to come to the hero's place so they could kill the hero for his house and money. The brother threats to take his child when the woman refuses to leave with him and when he goes for the baby the hero hits him. Later in the book the sheriff shows up to arrest the brother for murder and I think stealing a horse. When asked he tells the sheriff that the woman was is wife. That is all your remember hope it helps.

Update:

She went to the hero's place because she thought it belonged to the father of her child because that is what he told her and he lied about his name. The father if the child his the hero's half brother and he want what he's got. There was also a part where the hero tied a rope from the front porch to the barn so they could feed the animals without getting lost in the snowstorm.
