I highly recommend reading them in order. Both characters and plot lines carry over so you’ll miss things if you don’t.

I suggest reading them in order too because the characters personalities build with each book. And there has been one book where the killer wasn't identified until the end of the next book. Sort of aggravated me when that happened until I read the next book and loved it so much that I forgot I was aggravated.
