theDuke | 6503 comments Thank you very much Val, and equal congrats to me 'identical twinned' winner Grizzly ....and to Philip too.

Is this the first time, two punters have come out top in a round, Val? I don't recall we having one before since i started playing it in 2016.

But what going on the in the Giants camp? 2 losses in a row....there's trouble brewing!

message 703: by [deleted user] (new)

Identical twin??

In a Danny DeVito/Arnie kind of way?? :)

Anyway, congratulations to you too, and also to Phillip :)

I think it may be. I don't keep records of scores, only of end-of-season charity donations. In 8 years, it could have happened before but I don't remember. I think it's extremely unlikely that two tipsters would have won the round with identical margins so well done you two.

theDuke | 6503 comments Right, gunna get mine in, while i still remember....a few tough ones to call here. The Maggies ought to get a win in after 2 losses....but against the Eagles? Hmmm..i really dunno, good on them if they can do it..but i'll play it safe...

Eagles - 13

Swans - (be one heck of an upset if the Blues steal it, but going with the favs)
Hawks - (Freo could get it, but Hawks know this Tazzy pitch well)
Roos (dunno what's fired these guys up all of a sudden, but they're playing well atm)
Crows - (the way they're playing currently...i wouldn't be surprised if the Suns nick this one, but going with the favs again)
Cats - (3 losses in a row..no way!)
Tigers - (Its the MGC isn't it, GWS don't do well there)
Doggies - (another team that appears to have bounced back of late..after they beat the Cats...on their turf!)
Port - (I like the way Brisbane are playing, but i've have of late underestimated what Port can do)

Edit: Tigers have a good record against GWS at the MGC.

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments So that's a total of none to four Grandchildren in 3 years now?!! ... and I bet our Val can probably read aloud a Fairy Story whilst changing a Nappy at the same time as rocking a little 'un to sleep AND bottle-feeding another these days! ... what an expert of a Grandma she must surely be by now?!! - LOL!!! ;o>

message 726: by Val (new)

Val H. | 22288 comments I don't know about that Suzy! Mostly, I just do as I'm told; also, things are a lot easier (and cheaper) now than when my children were little.

Tonight's result:

West Coast Eagles (Sussex) v Collingwood Magpies (Tech)
6.3.39 (Q1) 6.1.37
10.4.64 (Q2) 8.3.51
12.4.76 (Q3) 9.6.60
12.5.77 (Q4) 11.12.78

What an exciting game! The Eagles led by 18 points at one stage but the Pies never gave up and were masterful in defence in the last quarter. The winner of our closest margin tip is RedJohn. He may have predicted an Eagles win but his margin of 2 points was enough to make him closest to the pin so $6.00 is set aside for the Fr Bob Maguire Foundation. Congratulations!

Just working out the maths there...i'm guessing she was 16 when she had her kid..and that offspring followed a similiar fashion. By that token then...she could be great grandmother at 48! And a G.G. grandmother at 64!

I wonder how many G,G,G, grandmothers there are in the world?!

Val H. | 22288 comments No danger of me being thought of as a sister! Maybe a great-grandmother. Our first grandchild may need speech therapy at some stage as he can't articulate consonants very well. His two grandmothers are Val and Kay, but we answer to Bal and Cake and have decided we are happy with those names.
