WoW?!! - that was wonderful!!! I simply adore Cyber Cake and it's turned out to be a very good job that we did bring so much to the Party, isn't it Anita? You can hardly tell just how much we've eaten! - LOL!!! ;o>
It's apparently Breakfast time in Melbourne but it's already gone half past 11 here at night and so I'm off to my Bed now. I hope you have an absolutely fantastic Birthday, Val, and get spoilt all day long by all of your family and friends ... x
Sending you all of my love x and my very best wishes as always x
x x x Suzy x x x

Shame about the Aussie team tonight though. A lack lustre first half, but they fought hard in the 2nd half, till they lost a player to a red card. And Kerr made a right dog's chow of her penalty shot.
The plucky Nords will face English or Camaroon squad next.

There's not much left but if Suzy and Anita want to make another midnight sortie they might have better luck than last night. I probably need some help in finishing it anyway - I just tested my blood sugar and it was over 6. I like to keep it nearer 4. Anyhoo, they've all gone home now so we'll finish off last night's roast chicken, roast spuds, sprouts, peas and carrots. The shortest day may have passed but I think we're about to have the coldest night tonight - a whole 2 degrees! And I have to get up early to get to the doctor because she's about to depart on holiday and lucky me, when you get to 70, you get a free shingles vaccine and a free bone density test. How's that for a birthday present!!

Most of us tripped up on the Cats' defeat and a few of us were caught out by the Demons. I only saw a bit of the Lions/Saints game where the Lions looked brilliant - 9 goals in the third quarter! I also saw a bit of the Dogs/Pies game which has just finished and was a real nail-biter even though the Pies always looked superior.
We were all a bit gutted to see the Aussie girls crash out of the World Cup but they have really raised the profile of the women's game here. Sam Kerr is much loved and respected and she will probably berate herself for that penalty. She comes from an AFL family - her brother Daniel was a star at the West Coast Eagles for many years. Went off the rails following his retirement, to the extent that Sam wouldn't talk to him for two years. He seems to have turned his life around over the last five years and was in France to support her and the team. We will now turn our attention to Ash Barty at Birmingham and then Wimbledon, the Aussie men's cricket team and an outside hope with Daniel Ricciardo in the French Grand Prix (it's all happening in France at the moment, isn't it?)

Thanks Sussex. I've still got 4 hours of birthday left so you're not late.

It's some years now since I last made a Cake using whole boiled Oranges but I can still remember just how good they tasted. They were always at the very top of the list of requests from a couple of little Tea Rooms that I used to bake for ;o>
We've just had the Longest Day of the Year in the UK. Yesterday was very warm by the afternoon here in Greater Manchester - 23 degrees. We are currently on an alert for a massive Thunderstorm with a significant risk of Flooding in nearby areas sometime over the next 24 hours - but it may well pass us by as we live in a area that often gets a far more unpredictable mix of Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire and Derbyshire Weather instead of the Weather predicted for the Borough of Stockport - LOL!!! ;o>
It sounds like you have had several absolutely wonderful days celebrating being 70, Val - I do hope that free Shingles Jab and Bone Density Test come gift-wrapped with a great big Bow on the top! - LOL!!! ... Happy Birthday, Poppet! ... x x x

My friend makes a gluten free chocolate cake using boiled oranges ,it is the best chocolate cake I've had.

No worries. My birthday was only yesterday. I'm available all week and beyond.

Giants x (I want to say Dons but the Giants just have too much class)
Cats (that loss last week will still be smarting)
Eagles (Nic Nat is back and I think the Hawks are now officially in a "re-building" phase)
Swans (looking a bit of a power now)
Pies (shame, because the Roos are playing attractive, and hard, footy)
Port (home ground advantage should see them win)
Tigers (Freshened up by the break and with 6 of their stars back from injury)
Lions (should account for the Dees at home and they are playing a free-flowing style that is a joy to watch)
Freo (the Blues aren't playing badly, they just can't take a trick)
We'll see if the obvious selections do come up trumps this round. it's about time they did!

Essendon Bombers (Val) v Greater Western Sydney Giants (Duke)

A nail-biting game. Essendon never let up on the pressure and the Giants probably didn't have their best game. They'll bounce back. Hopefully the Bombers can build on this win. We have two winners of the closest margin - Suzy picked the Dons by 7 and Grizzly picked them by 5. $6.00 goes to both Friends With Dignity and RedNose. Well done you two!
Nice :)
Thanks, Val and well done suzy :)
