Lauren | 4 comments My grandmother has this children’s book, and it could have been published any time between 1950 and the late 70s (though I read it in the late 80s/early 90s). A child is stalling going to bed because she/he is afraid. I think the mother gets a drink and does other things to soothe him or her. All along you think it’s a human child, but at the end, you learn it is a monster child who is afraid a human could be in the closet/under the bed. The artwork was fairly distinctive, something kind of like Maurice Sendak style.

Good guess, but no. :(

SamSpayedPI | 2313 comments If the fact that it's a monster, not a human child, is a surprise twist, it's a spoiler and therefore doesn't belong in the header. It's OK to put it in the body of the thread (with fair warning) just not in the header.

Lauren | 4 comments @Sam My apologies. I wasn’t thinking about spoilers being related to a children’s book.

You can "bump" your thread every month or so. This pushes your thread back to the top of the folder instead of languishing here on page 176 where fewer eyes will see it. Get back in the game! Bump!
You can do this by typing a new comment at the end of the thread, or even by typing the word "bump."
