To publish exclusively with amazon

I've published four superhero novels. Each has a paperback and ebook version available on Amazon. I have two more manuscripts nearing the final stages. I plan to have both added to Amazon. One in June and the other around October.

10 out of 10 times my sales were on Kindle (not that I got them there much either). I only tried the other platforms for a couple years (even to the point of making one perma-free for a while) before discontinuing them to go back to KDP exclusively.
At least with KDP Select I can run promotions and get reads from Kindle Unlimited.
My opinion is: Try it, but don't be surprised if you don't get much attention on the other platforms.

It had been of great help in finding readers for a newbie like me, especially when I don't understand marketing at all. Focusing on KDP also helps in time management, i.e. focusing only on one platform (which incidentally represents 70 to 80 percent of the ebook market).
I agree with Thomas. I briefly considered other platforms for a time but the majority of the posts I read (on Goodreads and other fora) show that for new writers, KDP would be the way to go.
Unless, of course, you've reached the J.K. Rowling level - then it's a different ballgame altogether.
Good luck.
I want to get a poll of people who are new authors who publish their ebook exclusively to amazon KDP program. For my daughters first book we did not enrol in the KDP select program and wend published her ebook every where but I notice her sales just come from amazon. My book is just on amazon for the ebook and paper back at barnes and noble and amazon.
I would like to increase the market place for my ebook. But both my daughter and I get money when ever anyone reads our book as and not just sales. I kind of like that extra option.
My orginal plan was to leave our new books on KDP for six months but I wondering if I should test other markets when our 90 period ends with KDP select.
So far no sales from other sites like barnes and noble or itunes for the firts book I published for my daughter using draft2digital.
any opinions on this?
