My suggestion for an Aussie only giveaway Dale, would be to offer "X" number of ecopies in the Giveaway folder - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group... - perhaps by a certain date, and the first in will get the copies. Email you (or PM through GR) and you then supply the ecopy to the "winners"...

Thanks for being so helpful!
I think Kindle offers a giveaway service that I may be able to exploit. (My previous book was published by a publishing house rather than independently by me, so still learning the ropes). Once I've worked something out, I'll post in the Giveaway folder as a 'new topic' per your recommendation.
Cheers,
Dale

Great news on DART from The BookLife Prize.
I just received my Critic's Report for my entry in the SF/Fantasy/Horror category for the 2019 BookLife Prize. DART was awarded a perfect score in all evaluation categories!
Plot/Idea: 10 out of 10
Originality: 10 out of 10
Prose: 10 out of 10
Character/Execution: 10 out of 10
Overall: 10.00 out of 10
This means DART has a great chance of progressing to the quarter finals (fingers crossed!). If you'd like to check out the Critic's Report, here is the link:

(BookLife is the independently published books arm of Publishers Weekly. The BookLife Prize critics' reports are provided by Publishers Weekly reviewers.)
All the best,
Dale

I'll post the shiny 5 star sticker as soon as I work out how!
:)

There you go!
Dale

'...a refreshing new hero for the 21st century. I highly recommend Dart'
'I thoroughly enjoyed this witty, clever, and action-packed science fiction romance and can highly recommend it.'
'As well as plenty of action and adventure, this book has its fair share of humor, some laugh-out-loud one-liners and is a fun read.'

Looking good for a place in the quarter finals!

Entries that qualify for the quarter finals are to be announced on September 23rd. I know - you should never wish time away - but hanging out for the announcements! I'll keep working on the sequel. There's no better distraction.

This means DART was selected by the Publishers Weekly and BookLife Prize critics as one of the ten best novels in SF/Fantasy/Horror from the hundreds entered.
If you're interested in taking a look at The BookLife Prize quarter finalists (in all categories) then here is the link:

Looking forward to October 1st when The BookLife Prize semi-finalists will be announced.

DART has been selected as one of the five semi-finalists in the SF/Fantasy/Horror category, to be judged over the next four weeks by award winning Science Fiction and Fantasy author, Tim Pratt.
One in five chance now of winning the SF/Fantasy/Horror category and progressing to the final round of The BookLife Prize, 2019.
Will find out on November 1st.

I'm pleased to have made it as far as I did - it's the first time I've entered any of my writing in a contest, and it's encouraging to have made the "best five books" in the SF/Fantasy/Horror category in such a big, international contest.
Maybe next year with the sequel...?

If you are interested in a free (epub, mobi or PDF) copy of DART then you are welcome to use the following URL:

Note: BookSirens will ask (but certainly not oblige) you to post a (Goodreads or Amazon) review in return for the freebie; a small price to pay for a free copy of the book that ALMOST made the final of this year's BookLife Prize! ;)

The Wishing Shelf Book Awards contest is based in the UK - where I would really like to raise the profile of DART - so this is good news! DART has been named as a finalist in the Adult Fiction category. Winners will be announced in April.
Now I need to find an Aussie contest - nearly all DART sales to date are from the US. Maybe this is what happens when you decide to write in colorful US English?!?
Hopefully this time DART can go one better than its semi-finalist (SF/Fantasy/Horror category) placing in Publishers Weekly's The BookLife Prize 2019.
In other news, the new cover for DART is nearing completion. I engaged an artist who has done covers for such brilliant writers as Roger Zelazny and Edgar Rice Burroughs - and I'm pretty pleased with where the cover is headed!
You can have a sneak peek at the cover designs "in flight" on my website at:

There's news on the same page of an upcoming competition to win a signed, paperback copy of DART (with a dedication of your choice). The competition will kick off shortly after the new cover edition is released (soon!).

And here's the new cover!

Details in the image such as the pillars used as borders and the 'moon' visible behind the title all tie back beautifully to Dart's story.
I'm currently waiting for the first proof copy of the paperback to arrive. Details of the competition to win one of these will be out soon after.

Take care of yourselves in these trying times.

Thanks, Brenda. I'm sure books are providing a great distraction for many during this necessary period of isolation.

ETL is a paradoxical view of reincarnation managed by technology. It's short, free and a bit of thought-provoking fun to fill in some of your Covid-19 enforced home time.
Take care of yourselves.

If YOU would like to win a paperback copy of DART – complete with a dedication of your choice and mailed to your nominated address – try the contest I’m running to celebrate the all new cover art by Gary McCluskey (garymccluskey.carbonmade.com).
By correctly identifying some literary, musical and TV references quoted from the novel, you will be in with a chance of winning one of FOUR paperback copies of DART which I will sign and mail to each winner.
To enter, visit the competition page on my website – dalerenton.com - and follow the instructions.
Entry is FREE and does not require you to make a purchase.
Good Luck!

If you'd like to pick up a FREE signed paperback copy of DART, complete with the new cover, the last few hours of the competition have arrived.
Visit Dale Renton's Writing ASAP and try your literary and musical knowledge in the competition.
Winners will be drawn from entries with at least one correct answer in the next few days. The free paperback copies of DART will be mailed (again, free) to the winners.
Good Luck,
Dale
*** UPDATE *** 8th June 2020
I've just seen this posted on the Goodreads weekly updates from Aussie Readers - as the first entry displayed. The contest to win paperback copies of DART ended a couple of days ago - after I posted this on May 31st. This update appeared in last week's email so I'm not sure why it has reappeared as I didn't update it.
HOWEVER - I will reopen this for Aussie Readers members (only) to have a go at the competition. Until the end of this week (midnight 14/6/202, AEST), you can enter by following the instructions on this link:
https://dalerenton.com/latest-updates...
Good luck, and apologies for any confusion - I don't know why or how the post reappeared in the feed :)

I received a SMS this morning advising that

Dart continues to do well in US based contests - and sells way better in the US and Canada than here in Oz. Will need to find an Aussie contest to try!
Stay well,
Dale
Congratulations Dale! That's great news for you :) Keep up your renovating - takes your mind off things that's for sure...

DART made finalist in the awards and yesterday (25th September, 2020) I (finally) received a feedback package including an Amazon (UK), Bookbub and a GoodReads review -
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
- based on the responses from the 19 readers in the UK and Sweden who read and provided their assessment.
I'm very pleased that the aggregated rating for

For any authors/readers out there, I can sincerely recommend the UK based Wishing Shelf Book Awards to either gain detailed feedback, if you're a writer, or guidance in your search for worthy new titles if you're a reader.
DART (ebook) is currently available FREE from BookSirens for anyone willing to provide an honest review. Just follow this link:

The contest assesses novels for their movie potential. Wonder who they'll get to play Dart?? 😂

Still can't believe he got the Jack Reacher role, Brenda! ;-)
And thank-you!
I don't think anyone can Dale - money talks doesn't it!! I refused to watch the Jack Reacher movies on principal!

It's one of the greatest things about reading, Brenda. The heroes and villains always look exactly the way you want them to. (But I'll still be chuffed if DART becomes a movie one day!)
Definitely! And a 6'6" broad shouldered muscle filled Jack Reacher isn't Tom Cruise!! lol And of course, that would be brilliant for you :)

DART

This means DART also qualifies for ScreenCraft's "Red List", showcasing the novel to potential film makers and agents.
I'll find out mid-February whether DART is a finalist!

Thanks, Brenda! Made a few finals now. Maybe this is the one?!

I've made a number of e-copies of DART available through a give-away from 8th to 18th March but due to a Goodreads promotion restriction, this is only for US based readers. I'm trying to figure out how to do this for Australian readers and will run an Aussie-only give-away as soon as I have.
If you enjoy SF that makes you think, sweat and occasionally smile - DART may be a good addition to your library. It's available here:

Any feedback is always welcome.
