Can people who are not authors create author profiles? I just noticed one author profile and no books to add to his name. He seems to write blog posts for various websites. Should we delete the profile: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show... ?

Author profiles are created when a book is added. It may be a book was deleted that had been previously linked to that author profile. There is supposed to be a script to delete empty profiles, but I think they had some problems with it and it has not run for some time. Only staff can delete a profile and my understanding is that they are not currently deleting empty profiles, rather waiting for that script to run. So there are a lot of empty profiles.
I think this profile just contained quotes, which, not being from a notable person, were deleted.Since the profile was completely empty, I merged it into NOT A BOOK.
