I was a bit shocked since she practically raised him, but I can understand why she did it to. The Lightwoods want to stay in the Claves good graces.

I was stunned. I couldn’t believe she’d shun him so quickly, especially since her children still had faith in him. I was relieved when I later realized she was trying to protect him from the Inquisitor.
