The story opens with Valentine using a young warlock, Elias, to summon the demon Agramon, sacrificing him. Do you think there are any limits to his cruelty? Would he spare or sacrifice his own children? Does he have any feelings for Jocelyn?

Valentine only cares about himself and his "cause". I feel that his feelings for Jocelyn are in the past and that yes, he would sacrifice his only children for his cause.

I agree with both of you. He’d sell his soul if he hasn’t already.

I do think he has bitterness towards Jocelyn for leaving and betraying him. Maybe there’s something still there?
