Pavan Swan Here is what I think about Conversations with God – and I speak of the first book only. People go back and forth about whether it is Neal Donald Walsch or God speaking; but the truth, always more complex than people acknowledge, is that it’s both. Clearly this is written by a fallible man; yet it is also inspired, in the sense that it is his highest truth coming through. This is imperfect truth, but it certainly touches on a message of universal salvation, forgiveness, love and hope – and this is a message that the world can use. Neal Donald Walsch is only a man, and I found that the following books lost much of the inspiration of the original. But this does not diminish the fact that Neal was writing this first volume from his heart, inspired to push his own limits to bring forth the highest truth of his own spiritual self. It is up to each one of us to decide what parts of this truth are from Neal the man, and which are genuine, transcendent truths of the soul. But I think it is vital that, when seeking truth, we don’t let the imperfections of a man keep us from seeing where genuine insight is offered.
This is personal to me, as a teacher of spiritual truth, my own ‘Visionary Fiction’ is certainly imperfect at best: yet still an attempt to share a genuine message of love, forgiveness, change and hope. In that light, let me share a rather shameless plug about my own writing. For a limited time, you can get a free copy of my new Visionary Fiction novel SHAPE OF LIFE, a metaphysical thriller featuring a cast of real-life celebrities, and delving into the deepest issues of human consciousness and social transformation. This eBook is available to download FREE at: http://theshapeoflife.wix.com/novel. Shape of Life is a work of spiritual vision that blends elements of fantasy, thriller, erotica and horror, and features a cast of real-life celebrities. If you enjoy cutting edge spiritual ideas, complex storytelling and graphic erotica. Set in the near future – and in both this world and the afterlife - it follows the adventures of Princess Diana, Sasha Obama (and her father, Barak), Alanis Morrisette, Deepak Chopra (and his granddaughter, Phoenix Rising Chopra), and Mohamed Atta (a 9/11 hijacker); as well as a boy named Justin King, a terrorist known as the Captain of Shadows, and a scarred and brutal assassin – who happens to be a sexually twisted young woman named Mary Jane Simpson. Visionary Fiction at its best, this book is sure to shock, provoke thought, and entertain from beginning to end. Get a copy now, and pass the word on!

John H. The book is no longer on the Shelf......

Alis Cerrahyan To be honest with you, when I read Conversations, it was the first time I understood I could actually talk to God instead of reciting a prayer.
As far as I'm concerned, it probably was the right time for me to walk away from a religion and step into an actual relationship with God. And Mr. Walsch's work happens to have opened the right door for me at the right time. I still own a copy and love it.

Alis, It is so good to hear your comments. We have the knowledge within us to recognise the truth when we hear it. Yes, it was automatic writing and there may have been bits of the author's thoughts therein but, on the whole, it rang truth loud and clear whereas organised religions never had that effect on me.

Barbara This book was pivotal for me. It answers the question "why are we here". So God can enjoy, through us, his creations. So simple. And in this book it made total sense. Who knows where the ideas come from when any author writes a book.

Organized religion doesn't do it for me either.

The reason I read this book was because a neighbour of mine of old could do automatic writing. She was a Catholic and a Spiritualist at heart. She was doing a reading for me one night when a clock I had had on the Wall of my kitchen and had never worked for many years started to tick. I could not believe it. My dead Uncle who I had very much cherished had given it to me as a wedding gift. My friend's automatic writings were very inspirational and rang true but I could detect parts that were a human perspective. I very much believe that automatic writing comes from the God within us all and talks to us of our suffering and our problems. The next day the clock had stopped again.

Jason Wicky Ong Hi,

Read this to find out why Conversations with God is not biblical: https://carm.org/conversations-with-god

I felt the same way Alis. I read that book about 20 years ago and it changed my life. I rejected faith for years because I had it shoved down my throat as a kid and when I read this it was like, this is how a true relationship with God really is like. No expectations-Just Love and exceptance.
