We had a case of that Slapped Face syndrome going a Oundle the school last year, who picked it up??? Yep you guessed it, my little one! If there is anything to catch, he'll get it lol.
We've had chickenpox, swine flu, you name it!

What a nightmare, I feel your pain. All 3 of mine had chicken pox. Unfortunately not at the same time so we had it for just over a month in our house, I was demented by the end! I'm hoping to start my book tomorrow :)

WEEK 1
SPOT 5

RATING ☆☆☆☆
Finished 30/08/2014
I'm not sure whether I really liked this book or not, but it ends on a mahoosive cliffhanger and I have to read the next one, so it must have been good right?
Miki saves the life of a small girl by pushing her out of the way of a truck, at the same time as she is hit, she gets "pulled" into another world.
With 4 other teammates she must defeat the Draug, an alien species that live within our world, that we can not see.
It is just like a video game, they can score and loose points, and they have a health bar bracelet, it must stay green and never red, if you die in the "game" you die in real life.
I will be reading the next part soon to see what happens to Jackson, and if Miki gets her HEA.

The more I got into this, the less I liked it. It begins with the death of the protagonist, a 10 year old girl living in the South in the 1950s. The story then flashes back to three years before her death. Lori-Ann's life is a series of tragedies. It seems nothing good ever happens to her or her family, and I think that's what got to me. Although there are some small acts of kindness, friendship and love, the majority of the story is tragedy after tragedy. Her father leaves, her grandma dies, her cousin contracts polio, etc. the list goes on and on. I really don't recommend this one.

Review:
I don't even know what to say or how to review this. I believe my jaw is still resting on the ground after finishing this. Holy crow what a ride and what a journey since book 1! Kayden will permanently hold a special place in my heart. This book is the final showdown and I promise it'll make you feel every emotion under the sun while reading it. The world is unique and I can't really think of another series that's similar! I highly recommend this to paranormal lovers!

Review: I have read a couple fairy tale retellings lately that have disappointed me, but I had hope that this one would be different. I was pleasantly surprised! Red is a story about Tess Little, aka Little Red Riding Hood, and her adventures as an enforcement agent for the Fairytale Management Authority. I really enjoyed how all of the different fairy tale characters interacted with each other and that Serine didn't limit herself to using only fairy tale characters. She also used characters from other genres and the world they are transplanted in here is much more grim and gritty. I also liked how her romance with Nate Grimm progressed and look forward to reading more about these characters in the next books!

My Review: I came across this book earlier this year and I thought it sounded good, throw in my GR friends reviews and I added it to my tbr pile. Neither of these things prepared me for this book in any way. I absolutely loved it! It has lots of things I love, opposites who compliment each other, tattooed bad boys, dysfunctional families, women with a surprising inner strength and a story that grips you and does not let go.
I was put through the emotional wringer with this one but like Shaw I was inexplicably hooked on Rule. Or maybe it is easily explained once you see just how his page presence affects you. There is so much I could say but I truly don't want to give anything away, let me say this - I have a book hangover. It doesn't happen often but this one did it for me. I'll definitely be continuing on with this series and right now I would love some more ink!

I think we get our free pass for that as well?

Reading The Edge Of Never at the minute and it's super cute.
Need to roll a good one tomorrow as I have 7 buddy reads to get in this month, so I'm hoping I can fit them in with this lol.

Great reading, Jenne!
