Andrea Camilleri Andrea Camilleri has a new book (book 24) out called The Other End of the Line The Other End of the Line by Andrea Camilleri to be published September 3, 2019. Sicily (Italy).

A wave of refugees has arrived on the Sicilian coast, and Inspector Montalbano and his team have been stationed at port, alongside countless volunteers, to receive and assist the newcomers. Meanwhile, Livia has promised their presence at a friend's wedding, and the inspector, agreeing to get a new suit tailored, meets the charming master seamstress Elena Biasini. But while on duty at the dock one late night, tragedy strikes, and Elena is found gruesomely murdered. Between managing the growing crowds at the landing, Montalbano delves into the world of garments, in the company of an orphaned cat, where he works to weave together the loose threads of the unsolved crimes and close the case.

Sharon found this, Andrea Camilleri died and this was written about him. He'll be missed by all the people that worked with him. I'll miss his Montabano detective for sure.

Montalbano is currently showing in the UK BBC FOUR Saturday nights. I see the episode 1 of the last four was last night and hope they continue to the end...this time!! Delightful series and with so many layers.

The author had a life well lived, his true life would have made a fabulous film or book. I delighted in the description of his format constructing each book and how much he wrote. His love of directing. His insight in the complicated politics, social, history of Sicily and Italy. Books or either the Young Montalbano or Montalbano series, have all enriched many.
