Just read Courtney Milan's new novella. It is one of the few historical romances I have read with a black heroine and I liked that but I felt it had a lot of loose ends
My reading week starts tomorrow with the release of Evernight by Kristin Callihan and What a Duke Dares by Anna Campbell.
Dls, I missed that! I can't wait to read it, I read the little blurb after Suffragette Scandal (: I'm still on the Outlander series, I'm like 1/3? Of the way through #4, but I'm on vacation in MN so I'm not reading a whole lot currently
@Dls I read it and loved it too, but I agree with you. For a novella that was meant to be a "coda of sorts" to the Brothers Sinister series, it didn't feel very final. In terms of saying goodbye to the series, I think The Suffragette Scandal did a wonderful job allowing us to re-visit everyone at the end. It didn't bother me too much because I loved the story anyway, but as a coda to the series, it wasn't what I expected.I finally finished Any Duchess Will Do and Romancing the Duke today-I don't really know how I put off reading them for this long. Loved them both, ADWD more than RTD, though.
Really looking forward to Jill Shalvis' latest Lucky Harbour book It's in His Kiss which is being released tomorrow-I've been waiting for this one for ages!
I'm having a slump of sorts so I'm reading two books at once. Neither are romances, though. Listening to Broken Harbor by Tana French--finally got it after a fascinating photo montage in Slate magazine about Ireland's ghost suburbs--neighborhoods that were started but the builders stopped work on them when the economy crashed. There are hundreds of them apparently. Anyway the book takes place in one.
The other is the new Bess Crawford novel from Charles Todd An Unwilling Accomplice. Hoping to get some romance for her this go round. I really enjoy the books but I'm beginning to think the main characters are completely asexual.

Manda, I love that book. I think Faithful Place is better, because I just love the protagonist and his dysfunctional family, and Tana French did such a good job of describing the insular nature of the neighborhood, and the strange ethos of the residents. Very atmospheric.Of course, all her books have captured the psychic frailty of human nature in a gritty, but also otherworldly way. Does that make sense? Anyway, I think I'll go back to Tana French when I winnow down my TBR list a little.
There are so many books out today! I have no idea what I'll buy and read first. I especially want to read the new ones by SEP and Anna Campbell. Though I'm also on a Susanna Kearsley glom. I bought four of her books last week as a late bday present to myself (hey, I had gift cards), and they ought to be arriving today.
I haven't read Faithful Place yet, Kim. I was pretty traumatized about the ending of In the Woods so I avoided French for a while after The Likeness which gave some background on what really happened. So this is my foray back in. Ill go back and try it later though. Sounds interesting.
Despite my slump I'm excited about all the books coming out today. Can't resist a super Tuesday!

I finished up We'll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han (Library book) last night, I loved this final book in the trilogy and thought this book wrapped up the series quite nicely and I will be sad to say goodbye to these characters as I grew quite attached to them although I am looking forward to reading more of Jenny Han's Work.I am going to start Spellbound by Kelley Armstrong (Library book) next Book 12 in the Otherworld series and I am really looking forward to jumping back into this world.
Finished The Hot Zone by Jayne Castle yesterday. I started to listen to Heroes Are My Weakness, SEP's new release, but I'm just not in the mood for contemporary, so I'm staying with paranormal with Serpent's Kiss by Thea Harrison.
On Tuesday, I downloaded J.R. Ward's latest, The King. I'm immersed in that twisted world this week.
Deb Harkness "All Souls Trilogy" are great stories and with a wonderful love thread, I loved the characters.

I have to say that Heroes looks like it will be different from her previous stuff. So excited. I'm only on the 1st chapter.
I am waiting to hear from folks here before I try Heroes.
Just finished Not Quite a Wife. There is a lot of description in it and not as much dialog as I would like. ...

Just finished An Unwilling Accomplice and while the mystery was good, the romance I was hoping for didn't materialize:( I'm beginning to feel like these characters are dead from the waist down.
