Ask your parents, if they are ok with it, then its ok. Doesn't goodreads have an age requirement?

I just checked and you have to be 13 to have a goodreads account by law.
If my boys were 11, I'd let them read it. I've read it and my boys that are 7 and 8 watch horror movies with me and my husband. They know there's real evil in the world and there's movie evil.
The 11 year old in question has read the Shining and a few other King books
