This will be our discussion thread for the first quarter of the book.
I thought it would be good to divide this book into sections so that we can start discussing it without spoiling the whole book. Please give spoiler warnings in your discussions, but also please refrain from reading the discussions for parts that you haven't read yet and then I think we shouldn't have any issues.
In this section we will discuss Chapters 1-26 which is 124 pages in the edition that I have. It also covers October 24th through November 3rd in the book. You might want to go ahead and put book marks in between each of the discussion divisions in the book, so that you will have a reminder to stop reading for a minute and come here and discuss the previous chapters before you continue reading.
I'm planning to start this on March 1.

Emma (wordsandpeace) | 14 comments woohoo, I am on time, I started the book yesterday night!!

Emma (wordsandpeace) | 14 comments It shows right away that this is probably not going to be a very reliable narrator, lol

Mom2triplets04 | 32 comments I’m so happy my library came through! I have the audio book and the large print edition! I started it! The page numbers are different because I have large print but I’m up to chapter 13!

I’m really enjoying this! This is the 2nd book that I have read about agoraphobia. I couldn’t imagine being afraid to go outside!

Emma (wordsandpeace) | 14 comments Has anyone seen the movie Copycat? They say it's actually close to it

Yay! Glad you guys are jumping in. I've only listened to a couple of chapters so far. We were in the car and I wasn't sure how scandalous it was going to be! Ha!
I have this on CDs from the library, so I'd like to average 1 CD per day in order to be done before my book club on the 14th.

Laura, I've read a middle grade book with an agoraphobic mother called Courage For Beginners by Karen Harrington. You might enjoy that one too. It's good story of all of the hardships the kids have to battle with when their mother can't leave the house.

I"m up to chapter 19. Enjoying the audio but it's a bit slow even with speeding up. When she gets to the part where she is typing on line it was driving me crazy! thedoctorisin! You would think she would have used a different voice but nope! I'm following along with the physical book when I'm not cooking dinner.

The agoraphobic book I read before was the girl in 6E by A.R. Torre. It was an amazing book but you have to like erotica because the girl who had the agoraphobia was a web cam girl and she also had this obsessive nature that she wanted to kill people so she locked herself in her apartment. It was erotica plus thriller amazing 5 star book. It is a series but I only read book 1. I'm afraid to read book 2 because books 2 usually don't live up to the 5 star rating that the first book had.

I finished up this first section this morning. I think I was hoping that things would start happening by now and it's only started getting a tiny bit creepy so far. But that's okay at least we are getting to know the characters.
Unreliable narrator for sure!!
I'm really curious about what happened 10 months earlier and why she is separated from her family. I guess we will find all of that out in good time.

Emma (wordsandpeace) | 14 comments oh, you will find in time, and be shocked!!

Too funny about the audio.
OMG about 6E. I also read it and really liked it. I didn't think I would but once I started I couldn't stop-the writing was that good. I too learned a lot about making a living via camming.
I didn't want to read #2 but was curious and read chapter 1. It picked up exactly where #1 left off.
Thank goodness for book clubs because I would have never read that on my own.
