I'm not all that special, really. Or uncommon. I'm sure there are a lot of girls with old gypsy blood who see the dead, have killer cults hunting their family, and turn into something that gets scary when they panic. Yep. Completely unoriginal, if I do say so myself.
Move along. Nothing to see here. Nope. I'm just an ordinary girl.

It took my mother's death for me to finally start getting answers about what's really been going on. Unfortunately, most of the answers come from men...who aren't just men. Somehow, I've gone and landed myself in a world truly filled with monsters, and I'm starting to think this is where I should have been all along.

Only...I don't understand what's going on. I'm walking into the middle of a story that's thousands of years old, and I'm the new girl on the block who doesn't have a clue how this world even works. My only guides happen to be the most lethal of the bunch.

They decide who lives or dies. They decide who gets stabbed or tortured.

I'm especially disappointed in Arion and Damien - you would think the later would just be so overjoyed to be able to ejaculate that he would be her new best friend. (hide spoiler)]

I wonder if we will get more flashbacks in the next book. Damien and Emit have a clue because of the apples and Emit is the only one that knows about her internal monster. (hide spoiler)]

He seems like a meticulous guy - you would think that he would notice that a bunch of these big magical boxes go missing. I'm also getting tired of all this omega/beta/alpha talk, especially since they seem to have it all wrong and people are acting differently than they are supposed to. Totally not worried about her getting kidnapped right now, though I am curious why she always seems to have trouble with the wolves. The vamps got her once, but no morpheous monsters are bothering her, nor Van Helsing (I'm not sure what they would do to her, hunt her??). Anyway, it seems suspicious that it is always the wolves coming after her and I don't think it is just because Emit has been lax in his management of the pack. Could there be someone else pulling these strings? Perhaps the cult leader? (hide spoiler)]

Finished - (view spoiler)[ Dorian? Whatever, she will tear him apart. Not much of a cliffhanger there, but perhaps his presence will snap Damien into acting like an alpha for once?

I'm wondering what is missing with regard to Violet. The boys are on to something, I just wish they would get there faster. I think we will find out that she is the alpha of two houses (the shapeshifters and the witches) and by mating with all the guys, she'll be like the queen of all of them. Obviously, a battle with Idun will have to occur, but I think by taking in the Simpletons she is reducing Idun's power base somehow and by adding all those omegas she is building her own. I'm not sure how it works, but I'm excited to see the final showdown. (hide spoiler)]

I just know that she will be able to glean something valuable about how to defeat Idun, and if she breaks Vance's curse too, bonus! Although, I think she might have been able to do it just by putting on his ring. Something tells me that accepting all of them, flaws and all, is key. (hide spoiler)]
Ch 32 - (view spoiler)[ I know Vance is in a precarious situation right now, but it is starting to piss me off that they all KEEP underestimating Violet!

I also really thought Pandora was going to be different. A creepy witch? I did not see that coming, nor did I expect her to have been working for Idun for a thousand years without anyone noticing. (hide spoiler)]
Ch 47 - (view spoiler)[ I am so excited right now. Hyde is a collection of ghosts and is Violet's monster. The fact that each ghost represents some part of her personality (repressed or not), makes me want to go back to the beginning of this book and make notes on each one. The creepy twins kind of baffle me, but Diva is hilarious, and even the nerdy guy is kind of cool. Of course, Anna has long been a favorite and now it makes so much sense knowing she was birthed from the spell of an incubus. Oh, and I guess I should mention that I'm happy Idun is getting her ass kicked! We are only 75% done though, what more could we need to happen in this plot?? (hide spoiler)]

Finished - LOVED IT!!! (view spoiler)[ I laughed so hard at some of the stuff at the end - like how she was a little disappointed in Arion's performance while making her his bride, and then how everyone but Vance was trying to goad her monster into claiming them too. Too funny.

I also love how Idun is forced to stay in a state of dismemberment for her punishment. (hide spoiler)]

I'm just sad it is over. I wonder what Kristy Cunning will come up with next.
