Finished!!!! So I really loved some of the things that happened at the very end like Laila talking to Séverin. I really loved that and because of that I want to pick up the sequel.

But the fact that Séverin wasn't the heir of the house was so not a surprise and was really something I was expecting. I hope the sequel won't focus on that but more on the characters, the adventures, their relationships etc

I really loved the writing style.

I usually don't love when books have fancy fonts because it's not always the easiest to read. And also the fact that it was happening in Paris like a real city I felt like it wasn't magical or fantasy enough. Because obviously in Harry Potter it is the case too. But you have magical places, you have places that muggles cannot see. Here it was Paris. And I don't know I felt like it's not I prefer.

But overall it was a 3 for me which is still pretty good :)

I didn't realize this was a book pick for this month! I just happened to finish reading it a few days ago. Unfortunately, I strongly disliked it. I wrote a lengthy 1-star review on my GR if you want to check out my rant.

I heard really good reviews and comparisons to my faves (Six of Crows), so I was even more disappointed. I felt the author was trying too hard in almost all regards to impress the reader, the characters didn't feel authentic to their setting, and the magic system/worldbuilding felt incomplete.

Loved the cover though?

I know how you feel... It wasn't great but I enjoyed it. I will definitely check your review I wrote a review as well and well...

I honestly expected more because it was in several bookish boxes too

I loved this book. It was everything I hoped for and more.
Those last two parts completely broke my heart. First I felt sooo bad about Zofia. I'm not sure if I ship Enrique more with her or Hypnos, but I hate that seeing them together hurt her so much. Then Tristan... I kinda felt something bad would happen to him, but still it hurts. And then Séverin and Laila 💔 I wasn't surprised by how things went between them, but I ship them so hard, so I'm really sad right now. I did not think Séverin would turn out to not be the heir. I guessed that he would turn it down in the end, but I really thought it was his birthright.
Anyway, I loved it and I can't wait to read the sequel.

Okay, I need more. Like right now. I finished the last chapter and was shocked it was the end. That could have been because I was reading the ebook version and didn’t realize that was the end, but oh my goodness. I loved this book so much.

I enjoyed all the characters, the world, the artifacts and the world so much. I can’t wait until we get a follow up to this story to see where it goes from here.

This happens to me every time I read an eBook! As I don't feel how many pages I have left I thing it's endless hahaha
