SOLVED. Famous singer (and former local) releases song naming small town young woman [s]

Woman’s friends, family, neighbors, media believe there’s some kind of wild or secret romance between the now-famous singer and the protagonist. This attention is unwelcome & interferes with her life.
I recall a line something like "down by the river." The woman wasn't known to have had any contact with the singer in the past.

No - unfortunately it’s neither one of those books but thanks for the suggestions.
The book I’m recalling is more of a young or new adult type of book & I don’t think it was really popular or by a really well known author.
There was no romance between the musician & the main character - she was just having to deal with the speculation & gossip in her small town.
