30.3 - ElaineL's task: The Big Bang Theory

After twelve wonderful seasons, The Big Bang Theory is expected to air its final episode in May of this year. As a longtime fan, I thought it would be fun to center my task around the show.

This is a two-book task. You may select books from two different options, or select two books from the same option*.
Required: Indicate the option

Option 1: The Big Bang Theory premiered on September 24, 2007. Read a book first published in September 2007.

Option 2: The Big Bang Theory will have aired 279 episodes over twelve seasons. Read a book that has 279 pages plus or minus 12 (267-291 pages inclusive).

Option 3: For various reasons, I never watch the current season until it comes out on DVD the following September. This has made me forever a season behind. Read the next book in a series that you are “behind on.” For the purposes of this task, “behind on” means you began the series prior to the Spring 2019 Challenge beginning and there must be at least two more whole number series books currently published in your chosen series that you have not yet read before beginning this task. *If you choose to use this option for both books they MUST be from the same series. Fill-ins or other series entries with decimals (7.5, 8.1, etc.) do not count.
Required: State:
the series name,
that you began the series before the Spring 2019 Challenge began,
that the books were new-to-you,
and tell how many published books were left in the series for you to read when you began this task.

Joanne (joabroda1) | 1555 comments Can you clarify least two more whole number series books currently published

Do the 2 books include the book you are using for the task?

Ex:City of Stairs-book one-I Read

there are 2 more books in the Trilogy I have not read

Bea So, I am reading the Bernie Rhodenbarr Series of which there are 11 books. I have read 8. If I do both books, using option 3, could I use this series? My first book would have 2 more books to go, but the second book would only have 1 left.

As long as you have read at least one book in the series before this challenge starts and two more are already published, you may use it. So if you have already read the first book in the trilogy before March 1, you can use books two and/or three for this task.

Thanks. As I have the last book also planned for a challenge, that will help me complete the series!

Kim | 762 comments For option three, do the books have to be consecutive numbers in the series? I have read through book six in a series. There are four left. I would like to use books seven and nine for this task, and use book eight to satisfy another task. Is that ok?

The books do NOT have to be in consecutive order so you are more than welcome to read books seven and nine. Happy Reading!

Yes, the page numbers seem to all be appropriate and the series books work as well.
