This is a terrific book, full of masterful writing and weighty questions. Set in Ireland, it examines the life a man who is caught in the pressures exerted on the population by the IRA to throw off the English. Perhaps the best book yet for me this year.

I have used it for the second book in the prompt to read two books of the same genre, subject, etc. #8 2019.
