Hello Jeremy,I would be interested in proofreading your book, but I must say, I do not have an extensive portfolio to show you. I am new to freelance editing, but I am not new to proofreading. I have a degree in English and I have a keen eye for noticing grammar mistakes and other errors. I have 28 years of professional level experience as an editor with the major publishers. While it is mostly in SFF, I am a lifelong fan of thrillers and proofing is proofing, whatever the genre. I am a bit of an OCD perfectionist. Nitpicky? You betcha. This page shows some of my pro credits and the writers I have proofed/edited.

I am seeking an EXPERIENCED proof reader for my 71k thriller manuscript. It has been through a developmental edit as well as a line edit and I hired a different editor for the proofread but I myself read through the final product and want another set of professional eyes to take a look at it. I want someone who has experience and has a portfolio that I can check out. I cheaped out on the proofread portion last go round and understand that no one is going to be able to guarantee an error free manuscript but I feel it could go for one more pass over. My budget for this is around $500 but if someone has an extensive portfolio (and specialize in thrillers which would be icing on the cake), I could stretch this slightly though this is the number I'm trying to stay around.
