I sense that's what's gonna be proven true in the end.

Do you think it's fair to say, Iain, that the human brain (or at least human consciousness) might be a type or technology or organic technology? Or is there some other description you can think of that's the equivalent.

For me, this is the interesting parallel subject that interlinks with future tech subjects: what is human consciousness and how much more can humans do with their brains? And can it ever be replicated by non-human creations?

This may be the surprise or Trojan horse in the whole singularity prediction.

Just my uneducated opinion(maybe those qualified in this field could comment too?), but the focus here seems to predominantly rest on the premise that consciousness resides wholly in the brain and is a product of a permutation of states, and that by somehow mimicking or emulating these states you can replicate consciousness.

I think it's more complex than that. I think that not only is there other organs(gut brain) and transport mechanisms(CSF fluid)at play that could possibly augment the function of consciousness in tow with the brain, but that consciousness might actually extend beyond the body???

Way out there. I know(why I like this group :)).

On first approximation it might not click, but if you watch the following(I know you already have) there might be something more to all of this and existence is far more synergistic than believed?

Thoughts and Consciousness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHLnX...

The other thing as well with AI research, is the idea that mapping human behaviour and interaction and reducing it to data sets to feed to AI will also lead us to emulating human intelligence and ability; can we be sure we are really emulating human intelligence and potential, if our thoughts, ideas and so on are limited and even demarcated by education, media influence, peer pressure and so on?

(A trend that is becoming more severe as social media and its influence on social norms become more restrictive: invoking a heightened awareness for self-curation or unjust censorship by platform.)

Your only mapping a subset of human possibility that's influenced by behavioural modification, in that sense, if that makes sense?`

"(A trend that is becoming more severe as social media and its influence on social norms become more restrictive: invoking a self-curation or censorship by platform.)"

Slightly off-track(though related), but the older-generation(including you and I) grew up in a different world and one devoid of the Internet and social media, so in a sense, we're kinda the last bastions against some of the 'madness' of the punitive measures that have been took when it comes to freedom-of-speech, censorship and so called progressive social etiquette expected while being online.

kids growing up now will be totally habituated by the time they are adults to accept new draconian norms and standards set in the future to the point that it will be much more natural for them to conform to any pedantic 'status quo', while being easily 'pigeon holed' for perusal by more advanced AI and their algorithms, making for any related predictability measures by these programs a far easier task.

Iain McKenzie (Iain_mckenzie) | 1553 comments Dr. Jerry Tennant: Healing the Body's Electrical Circuitry | Electricity of Life

Today, various electromagnetic therapies have gained unprecedented acceptance and use, and scientific studies continue to affirm the influence of electromagnetic fields on life. One of the leading pioneers in this rapidly growing field has been Dr. Jerry Tennant, an ophthalmologist whose book series Healing is Voltage describes his groundbreaking research into the electrical circuitry of the human body. Today, in part one of this two-part presentation, Dr. Tennant begins by sharing his own remarkable challenges which catalyzed his scientific journey.

Iain McKenzie (Iain_mckenzie) | 1553 comments Jerry Tennant: Healing is Voltage -- The Physics of Emotions | EU2017

Most people have heard of the “mind/body connection” and are aware that emotions affect the way people act. However, few can describe how that works. What is relatively new is our understanding that emotions are stored in and around the body as magnetic fields. Not only do these magnetic fields cause the biochemical effects noted above, but they also block the flow of voltage in the associated muscle battery packs that provide the voltage necessary for organs to function and repair themselves. He will discuss the human body’s battery packs, wiring system, and the physics of how our electronic systems are affected by these emotions. In addition, he will discuss how other magnetic fields and scalar energy can be used to erase these emotions, leaving behind only memories that do not disrupt our health and physiology.

Significant advances in materials and microelectronics over the last decade have enabled clinically relevant neurotechnologies that measure and regulate neural activity in the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. These technologies provide new capabilities for studying basic mechanisms of information processing and control in the nervous system, while also creating new opportunities for restoring function lost to injury or disease.

Iain McKenzie (Iain_mckenzie) | 1553 comments Dr. Jerry Tennant: Recharge Your Battery and Heal | Electricity of Life

In part one of this presentation, Dr. Jerry Tennant introduced us to his extraordinary research into the complex electrical circuitry of the human body. Since his own remarkable battle with debilitating ailments, Dr. Tennant has worked to develop a kind of map of this circuitry, to understand its essential connection to physical wellbeing. In the previous episode, Dr. Tennant discussed the particular significance of the circuitry connecting teeth to other regions of the body. The concept of illness arising from electrical imbalances is, of course, unconventional in most modern medicine. However, the application of electromagnetic therapies in healing is not new. In this conclusion, we asked Dr. Tennant to begin by discussing some of the earliest examples of the use of electromagnetism as a physical remedy.

James Morcan | 7749 comments Scientists use quantum computer to predict the future https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/nati...

Accurately predicting the weather and even the stock market could be on the cards as scientists use quantum computing to predict the future.

Researchers from Queensland’s Griffith University and Singapore's Nanyang Technological University have collaborated to develop a quantum device which can accurately measure possible futures for a set system.

In this case that means tracking the movement of photons - single particles of light - through the system and measuring the outcomes.

Griffith researcher Nora Tischler said while that did not sound impressive in itself, it was a major development in quantum computing with profound implications.
