Good grief, it's 6 in the AM and I'm editing a post! YISH!
Anyway, I got my answer via a post on Youtube, that David Suchet MISSES playing Poirot. And that was last week. That's GOOD news.
What Still gets me is WHY did he quote, in his book, (Chapter 16 title) such a Malicious question as christie's vitriolic rant against Poirot?
"Why oh WHY did I EVER create such a DETESTABLE, bombastic creature?"
I realize this might seem silly to many, including Mr. Suchet, but it just BUGS me. Puzzles me. It most definitely paints christie in a bad light, which is where she belongs; betraying characters and spitting in the face of readers.
Anyway, I'd still love to hear ideas as to WHY such a vicious quote was ever used. I also have to wonder if anyone tried to counsel Mr. Suchet against using it?
