Lynda Kelly (lyndakelly) | 155 comments I hope you can finish what I started, please, but got stuck with....
Mark Webber wrote the foreword in this:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...
Mark Webber wrote this:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
They're the only 2 by him. However, he is clearly also listed under another Mark Webber. I amended his name by adding an additional space (Mark Webber) but then got stuck as I don't know how to move books from one to the other (or even if I have permission to do so).
I'm sorry to lumber it on someone else and hope I've explained it all correctly.

Thanks so much,
Lynda~

Arenda | 26447 comments When disambiguating books by authors with the same name, all editions of the book should have the number of spaces corrected in the author name.
I've corrected them on all editions of Aussie Grit, and on the book were he wrote the foreword.
I've also added a bio to the 2-space profile: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

Author pages (like https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...) might take some time to fully update after books are moved.
The best way to check is to go to the list of books by that author: https://www.goodreads.com/author/list...

Lynda Kelly (lyndakelly) | 155 comments You're a star. Thanks so much for fixing it for me. Next time I now know what to do so I really appreciate your explaining it as well.
Cheers, Arenda,
Lynda~

Ann Shannon | 2 comments Could you please explain how adding extra spaces in one author's name does not create difficulties in readers accessing the author with an extra space in their name? How does a reader know?

The reader does not notice the extra spaces. It's just when adding the author's name to a book that it matters.

Searches by author ignore the spaces, and they do not appear anywhere other than on book and author edit pages.

message 7: by Arenda (new)

Arenda | 26447 comments To be fair, the spaces are an issue when adding a quote for an author with more spaces in their profile name.

True. That's a good point.
