Jen McCarthy | 3 comments Hi everyone! I’ve been searching high and low for an answer to this... if I have duplicate downloads of a NetGalley book, is there any way to permanently delete the duplicate from my kindle???

Sarah | 69 comments You have to go to Amazon’s”Manage my content and devices” page. Select the device you want to delete from, find the item you want to delete. Click the options button (looks like this: ...) and select delete. A warning will pop up, click yes to confirm deleting.

Next time you open your kindle it should be gone.

Alternative you can plug your kindle into your computer via USB, find the file you want to delete and delete it manually.

Dorie - Cats&Books :) (dorie--catsbooks) | 427 comments That's interesting in the 3 1/2 years that I've been doing that I've never had this happen. How strange that it would duplicate a book that was already downloaded, weird, hope you get your answer :)

Nomadic Librarian (sgpeters) Also, choose “ Docs” not “Books” in the upper-left drop down menu. I just figured this out after not seeing my Netgalley titles in Books.

Angela (arose) Don't you just hold your finger on the book and when it comes up with the choice of 'Add to Collection' etc., choose to 'Remove from Device'?

The book cover and row remain there so it becomes difficult to live with the clutter. I just find it annoying to have to go to Amazon to clean it up, but this thread has been a godsend. I had probably two dozen NG dupes.

Your experience is equally amazing to me, lol. It occurs weekly to me, but now there’s a solution, so...

Finally got rid of my dups cluttering my app. Since then I’ve learned to be more careful when downloading & not to click twice 😉

Dorie - Cats&Books :) (dorie--catsbooks) | 427 comments Now that I know what you mean, yes I have downloaded a book sometimes more than once but I just do as Angela does, just hold my finger on the copy I want to get rid of and click "remove from device", that's on a Kindle, I don't know what you are reading on :)

I misunderstood your question, I thought you meant it was duplicating the books on NetGalley, sorry :(

That gets it off your kindle, but it is still on your Amazon cloud unless you delete it from there.

Elizabeth | 34 comments Go to your amazon account and hit Manage Your Content and Devices then show DOCs , find the book that has the duplicating downloads and hit the one you want to delete . and that removes ot from your account, and kindle

I thought that was her question, I may be wrong :(

Jen McCarthy | 3 comments Can I delete it from Amazon even if it’s a NetGalley book?? That’s what I’ve already tried doing and they don’t show up.
