Wednesday 13th March (just keeping track of the days I have done chapters for as I am already a day behind)

Chapter 4: (view spoiler)[ The leg is off now and I am so gland it was not just glossed over. We got to feel the sense of despair that was going through the characters at having to chop a mans leg off while he is awake. Its not something that can be done quickly with an ax. The layers of flesh and muscle among other things that have to be navigated in order to get to the bone are not going to neatly stay in place. Its going to be a slippery and frustrating job and the fact that Wintro pulled it off was amazing. Now we all need to pray he makes it through. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 5:(view spoiler)[It feels more like Grag sees marrying Althea more of a buisness transaction than a true romance. He knows he needs to produce an heir and honestly who would be more suitable than Althea. Just a pity there is no real romance between them. (hide spoiler)]

And it makes me wonder that perhaps the dragons from the Farseer trilogy weren't "true" dragons at all, and perhaps there's another kind that is sort of... imprinted in the memories of the Liveships. Maybe they (and/or the serpents?) are some sort of original dragon, that the previous ones we've seen are nothing more than a copy for? It's hard to say so soon into the series o.O

Amber will do a good job of fixing Ophelia's hands. What I am wondering now is what is Ambers surname, will it be a name we recognise. She seems to know a lot about Bingtown politics. (hide spoiler)]
Chapter 11: (view spoiler)[Amber knows something about the dragons and serpents and she thinks there is something special about Althea that connects her to them, I wonder what it could be. The reunion of Althea and her sister went better than I expected but I don't trust Malta. (hide spoiler)]
Chapter 12: (view spoiler)[I didn't think Kyle could get any worse but I was wrong that man is just plain nasty and thinks of no one but himself. Wintro is standing up to his father more all the time now he just needs to get him off the ship and out of his life.

My daughter miscarried her 1st baby, now she is only 25 weeks along and this is the second time she has been in hospital in the last few weeks. Fortunately she was at work this time, as she is an ER nurse they triaged her as soon as they found her slumped in a chair. She is home now and on bed rest for a few days.
