hi shelia i am pretty sure this is single dad next door by penelope bloom the heroine is called sandra and the hero is called reid, it is one of my fave single dad stories

The hero is a strange single dad and the is a mechanic that runs his shop from his home. The heroine is his new neighbor who happens to be his ex's best friend. The heroine and the ex use to be roommates until the heroine decide to by a house and gave the apartment to her friend. An the hero doesn't like it because of who her best friend is. While the heroine is making some repairs to her house she also owns a bakery I believe. The hero's brother is a jerk he tries to get the heroine to sell her house because he wants the land. When she keeps refusing he starts to target her bakery. The brother tries going after the hero's home to that there grandfather left the hero so the hero stops him from trying to take it by having it marked as a historic house so the brother couldn't tear in down for the land (oh an the hero also finds out that his brother has been sleeping with and living with his ex). An the heroine's parents are judgemental so the she asks the hero to pretend they are in a relationship and tells them he is a lawyer or some kind of businessmen can't remember which. One day her parents shower up at her house and she tries to distract them from seeing the hero who happens to be outside working on a vehicle. Then there is a loud noise and her parents look over an sees the hero and finds out she lied about him and that he is really a mechanic. They get angry and say some real awful and mean things to her a leaves.
Later the hero confronts her parents and set them straight about there daughter. An a course they see the error of there ways and apologises to her. Hope someone can help me find this book.
P.S
I'm not 100% sure but I believe the hero's name is Jake or Jack and either the heroine or the ex's name is Roxanne or maybe Rebecca (I'm pretty sure it starts with an R.
