I thought maybe it might be fun to start a thread with weird observances or essays theories we have read about the Sonnets.

I have been reading Katherine Duncan-Jones....and it made me realize that it might be helpful note some of the magic word play in one thread.

What are the words that are italicized on the sonnets? And why? Does anyone know of a study about these italics?

33 words are italicized these are the ones mentioned in this Arden introduction...

Adonis
Mars
Philomel
Autumne
Abisme
Heriticke
Rose
Hews
Informer
Alloes

Sonnet 135 "will" is italicized seven times.

Um, with "Heriticke" (heretic), informer, autumne...Im thinking Guy Fawlkes LOL
