Rhiannon Handley | 2 comments I am currently writing a book series (the book series as a whole I have not figured out a title for so help with that would be awesome) about a young girl who dies and finds herself in a place called Duggati (basically, Purgatory) which is were souls walk around freely and have formed a society that is quite peaceful for everyone. The first book follows how she transforms herself to adapt to this new way of living and there is also a romance, as well as some badass fighting moments as she chooses to become a Reaper. It is quite hard describing everything without giving too much away or making it just sound stupid. I'm looking for a long term beta reader, the chapters may take a few days (at most it'll take me a week) to be written because even though writing will always be my main priority I am busy. Please and thank you to anyone that wants to help, I will love you eternally.

Just Let Me Read ~ Kathy (justletmereadkathy) I absolutely love Paranormal Romance. I've never been a beta reader. I do love to read and do it all the time. I know how to write well, although at times I do relax and just "talk" without thinking.. Lol. I've always love doing reviews. At present I read and review for a reading blog, but I'm getting to ready to withdraw. She just lost three reviewers and is already overwhelmed. I'm giving her some time to replace the reviewers before giving her my bad news. I really enjoy doing it, but I have reasons that I can't explain on a public forum. It wouldn't be fair to her. I really enjoy being involved with authors and books. I wish I was aware of the potential careers in this area when I was in college as I if I had, I would have chosen a different major. My freshman English professor tried to talk me into becoming an English major. I always said no without discussion because all I envisioned when he said English major was writing or teaching. At the time, teaching was a very choice. I don't have a creative cell in my body, so that took care of writing.. Lol. It wasn't until FSOG that I realized there were more career opportunities, specifically editing.

Anyway, I'm a disabled RN. Thanks to a trauma and RA I am physically unable to work. There is nothing wrong with my brain do all this inability to work and suddenly becoming inactive is very difficult for me. I have a self centered husband and a 14 year old son full of raging hormones whom, on a good day I could choke!! Lol.. That's a joke.. I started reading when I was 13 years old back in the stone ages. Even then I loved classics. Vie always loved reading. It's always provided a welcome escape for me, now more than ever. I became active in the reading community in an attempt to give back. I really think I'd goner crazy without my escape and I appreciate all the authors that use their talent that creates my escapes. I especially love helping new authors with getting recognized. I am on two street teams and I work deligently in "pimping" them.

It would be an author to beta read for you. I'm wondering if you will have more than one?? If not, I think I would feel better if you had someone with more experience. I'd love to do it. I can tell from your post that you write very well and the story in your head sounds delicious! I'm easy to please when it comes to Paranormal! I just don't want to harm your career by not being good enough. Since beta reading is new to me, neither of us will know if I'm any good until I actually do it.

So... Please keep me in mind in case no one else with experience steps up but don't jump at this first opportunity. I'd love to send you a friend request, but I've not figured out how to accomplish that on Goodreads. If you send me one, I'll gladly accept.

Joanne LaRe Thompson | 68 comments Hi Rhiannon,

I am interested in being a long term beta reader for you, but not necessarily an editor (but will make minor edits here and there).

I'm currently writing my own paranormal book. I have beta and alpha read for a couple of others.

My email is tho0123@earthlink.net if you'd like to send me what you have and the timeline of when you'd like it returned.
Thanks,
Joanne

Angie (lifeisbetterwithbooks_) Are you looking for someone to read and review each chapter separately as you write them? Or someone who will follow you through the entire series? Or both?

read and review each chapter as I write them. I was thinking we could do it on a sorted time, so like every Sunday I send the person the chapters that I'd wrote that week. Does that make sense?

Angie (lifeisbetterwithbooks_) Yes, it does :) How many chapters have you written so far? (I have other betas lined up and am trying to determine how full my schedule is before making another commitment..)

Joanne LaRe Thompson | 68 comments Rhiannon - I'm in the same boat as Angie. I'd love to be able to help you......I just need to know how much you've done so far to figure out my own schedule.
