ch 20 (view spoiler)[ I'm irritated with the dad. I get that he's concerned for his wife and her pregnancy, but it does seem like he's dismissing Annaleigh and her sisters. Even though I feel a little bad for the tough pregnancy, I still suspect the step mom, with how she thinks her son would inherit everything over his older daughters. I like Fisher and it's sad that he likes Annaleigh but she prefers Cassius. I wonder about him too, he might be up to something. (hide spoiler)]

He gets drunk, embarrasses his daughters, threatens his wife, then says he'll give a daughter as a prize to a man who can solve the mystery of their ruined shoes? Wow. I less suspect the step mother now that we've seen her be vulnerable, but still a little iffy. (hide spoiler)]

ch 35 (view spoiler)[ Okay, so a half goddess is killing the girls through their dreams because someone called a trickster for a deal. Annaleigh thinks it's an uncle or something, but I think it's the stepmother. She wanted a son and for him to inherit the title and for that to happen, the girls have to die. I'm sad Fisher has been dead and that crazy goddess was inhabiting his body. The whole story is sort of confusing (hide spoiler)]

And she killed his first wife!! Wow, that's messed up. I'm really glad they rebuilt and can start their lives over. (hide spoiler)]

Just picked this book up at the library today and can't wait to get started :)

Completed Ch.1-10 I'm loving the era this is set in, it is very Tim Burton. I could easily see this being a film of his (thus far). The initial meeting of 2 characters is a bit off to me; I'm certain it is some sort of foreshadowing but it felt very thrown in.

59% complete - chapter 25 - this book reads so smoothly. Even though there are several things going on, they are woven together seamlessly that as it’s brought to the forefront you’re like “oh yea what’s up with that person (or thing)?” You don’t feel cheated but more like reminded that there’s so many aspects to this one story.

78% the second half of this book just flied through! The twist was something fully unexpected, not even an option I had thought of. Love that!

Completed! Oh my gracious did I love this book! So dark and mysterious and just so well written!

That bathtub scene though was pretty creepy and gross, I wonder what’s going on in that house, the ghosts seem angry and evil too and that’s never a good sign. They’ve lost three sisters and their mom, hopefully no one is next. (hide spoiler)]

I’m not sure what to think of Morella, it’s like she has two sides and which one is the real her is unclear. Cassius too I saw a mystery but I do like Fisher, I was afraid earlier he was the one who got killed. Has it’s creepy moments and I’m enjoying it so far. (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[I did really enjoy this, I loved the twists and turns but I wasn’t exactly surprised about Morella being behind it all. I certainly didn’t see things going the way they would. I’m sad about the twins dying but I’m so glad verity is ok. And then that epilogue made everything better and gave me the HEA I needed. (hide spoiler)]
