a decade or era to live in (for second half of life) when and where would it be? Why - if so inclined to share.

Probably mid-late 1990's. Things were less complicated yet fairly modern enough for this PI. We had internet, computers yet our lives weren't run by them. And a host of other reasons which I won't get into.

I'm a Boomer and remember when...well, it was a lot different then. In a good way.

I would like to experience some of the 30's and 40's, well before my time, but I really don't think I'd like to stay anywhere but the here and now!

I'd time capsule the 30's - 40's and then when the Great Depression starts, I'd head out. I should check my facts. lol Not sure when it hit. And when antibiotics hit the stage. I needed those several times. :-/

I agree, the world at that time was less complicated, less divisive, politics wasn't shoved in our faces all the time and everyone's noses weren't locked on their cell phones. Ah, one could only dream . . .
