message 1: by Diane (new)

Diane Moseley | 2651 comments Don't Argue Over The Word of God. -Jesus shows how arguing the Bible with people is pointless. "People's mind are changed through observation and not through argument. - Remind everyone about these things, and command them in God’s presence to stop fighting over words. Such arguments are useless, and they can ruin those who hear them.-2 Timothy 2:14
Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way.Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ. -1 Peter 3:15-16-DIVINE WORDS BY DIANE.

2 Timothy 4:2 - Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

Titus 1:13 - This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

Titus 2:15 - These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

2 Timothy 4:3 - For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Titus 1:9 - Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

Titus 2:1 - But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

Tom Rothbauer | 13 comments Diane, I love your spirit and your courage. It seems that you are following Jesus as he requested, living the Way of God. If you haven't already experienced it, you will have to bear that cross - as Jesus did. May God bless you abundantly for sharing your love and wisdom with the world.

Tom wrote: "May God bless you abundantly for sharing your love and wisdom with the world. ..."

My response: Tom neglected to mention that his encouragement comes from a man (himself) who believes that Allah and the God of the Bible are the same.

My encouragement that I posted came directly out of the Bible (which Tom rejects or re-writes when he does NOT like what God's Word says.)

message 6: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle I wish we didn't have to.

But so very few people know the Bible. After 40 years - I'm still learning it and defending it.
I seldom assume the people I'm arguing with are Christians. Especially if their understanding of Jesus is backwards and self serving.

Sharing is wonderful: few ask about this hope. Most attack and mock it.
