Odd Thomas series buddy read (spoiler warning)
Thanks you Mehmet! I got the 1st book on my kindle app now so I'm good to go, I've been thinking about this series so I'm happy to get back into it.

Who said Ouja board? I say just learn sign language and find he ghost of Helen Keller! I think there's something more specific than just speaking. i think the ghosts are forbidden from communicating certain aspects no matter how much the y want to communicate them. Leads to frustration (Poltergeist!)
Excited to hear other peoples points about the story and how they see it and think the Universe works. It's weird how deep this can go if you dig into the story line a little more versus just kind of skimming the surface and enjoying the narrative.

Just finished the short story and it was so good. Spoilers for short story:(view spoiler)
Jonathan wrote: "I liked the second book! It was fun. If anyone wants to explain a certain part at the end please private message me. Lol" Darn it, I read it so many years ago I dont remember. Guess I wont be able to continue without a reread. This hurts the lazy reader on me. Lol

Overall I am happy with the stories

@Krystle
It is great to have you with us. It feels like all of the original group is here! :-)

I forot how charming and likable Odd is. Even after all these years, he is still one of my favorite characters. He's so genuine, and his heroics never feel forced.
Spoilers for ch 1-6 of third book: (view spoiler)
@Jonathan, I think your right, and I've read a few other Dean Koontz books and noticed that he focuses more on his heroes than villains. I think he keeps the villains one note so he can highlight good triumphing over evil.

I could see Odd Thomas become a awesome series of movies under the direction of someone like Edgar Wright. I would love to see a director with that level of skill make the dialogue pop the way he does.

Agreed! Hope someone can pick up and complete the story. The Netflix movie was good and Anton Yelchin did a great job. So that proves the story translates well.
I'm up to chapter 19 and really enjoying it so far. Brother Knuckles is so cute, in fact all of the monks and nuns have interesting and unique personalities. The way Odd describes them gives just enough information so I become fond of them right away.
I do feel like the book can be repetitive in between the moments when something important happens. (view spoiler)

The second book was fun for me. It might be my favorite of the first three novels. The third novel is good but felt like a few plot threads were left unresolved intentionally at points

I'm so sorry, Kasia, please take care of yourself and take all the time you need. If and when you feel like reading the books, we can always talk about it with you then no rush.
@Mehmet, I agree. (view spoiler)

Don't be sorry about that! I finished a buddy read a month ago, and it took me 5 months to finish just that one book. Lol
Take your time. :)

@Atl, I hate it when that happens, I'd much rather instantly love or hate it. Also, I used to live in Atlanta is that the inspiration for your name?

Yeah, I've already read most of it, but it was years ago so I don't remember too much. Decided this was a good time to reread and finish the series.

@Krystle
Have you seen Mob Psycho 100? It is very much like One Punch Man. I actually love it slightly more. They are both created by the same creator

Hill, I’m on my third book by him nos4us. I haven’t read the other author yet. I’m sure I’ll pick up another odd Thomas at some point, when I want a softer read.
