Jae (bookishwiccan) | 18 comments Hello Book Witches!

Another Sunday, so another discussion post! The month is almost over, did you finish The Wicked Deep yet? I will post a final thoughts topic on the last day of the month so we can culminate all our thoughts in one post!

Who has some topics they want to discuss we haven't touched on?
Has the book picked up for you?
Have you found more depth in the characters?
What sticks out to you as the most important part of this book?
What parts of the book do you believe could have been written differently?
Is there anything you would change?

May your coffee be strong, and your books be magical!
Creep it real, witches.

Sarah ~Goddessofthestory~ (goddessofthestory) I was silent last week because I was not sure what chapters we were on. But now this should be the final chapters.

The story picked up and I did want to find out more. But I really became suspicious of how Penny knew of a way to kill the sisters. I was like... huh? and she is keeping it a secret.... I was like what? And she could see them....? Ok ok, Penny must have magic. Alright, I could get behind that.
I will say, I enjoyed the Penny reveal. I thought it was well played. I was suspicious but was not absolutely sure most of the time.
Penny as a character sure got a whole lot more interesting.

Also, I had a really hard time believing the basic premise that the town just kind of let's this happen every year. I felt pretty confused by this during the entire story. I felt the story was missing a little of the 'reality' of the world and therefore, I had a hard time enjoying the fantasy.

What are some other people's thoughts?

Kellie Davies (httpwwwgoodreadscomkelliemdavies) | 8 comments I quite liked The Wicked Deep - the pace was great, the world building too. It was a little predictable, I got Penny had been ‘replaced’ early on but held out to see what would happen with the sisters.
To be honest I’m not into massive analytical reads, not when holidaying anyway - I want a page-turner, something that I can pick up and put down without skipping a beat or read in big chunks - this book was exactly that.

Amanda | 4 comments I agree with Sarah, I couldn’t really get into the idea that the town would celebrate this every year. But, I read it in one sitting, so it was an an easy enjoyable read.

The Dwarf Did It... (thedwarfdidit) I have a lot of mixed opinions about this book I didnt LOVE it like I was hoping but I didnt hate it either. I really hope our March read is more exciting
