I know the entire plot of this book but I see know spoilers so if you need more I’m happy to share. I’m trying to find it for my grandmom (it was our first buddy read)

SPOILER warning: A young girl in the early 1900s gets pregnant in Europe (I think Ireland or London) and she runs to the city and stays at a boarding house with a nice woman. She decides to follow her dream to America to become an actress and her daughter is left behind with her mother. The mom becomes the Hollywood IT girl and married a rich man who had children. Its reported that she dies in a car accident but it was actually the daughter of the man who died and the mom developed an illness and she wanted to be remembered as young and beautiful. Meanwhile, the daughter gets sent to an orphanage and is almost given to a pedophile, she ends up escaping and becomes a writer or journalist (I think) and meets a man and discovers who her mom was. They fly to America where they find her in the husbands mansion ill but still alive near the end of the mother’s life.
I think that might be it. I can’t tell you how thankful I am. My grandmother and I have been searching for 10 years and it means so much to me! I’m ordering it now

They then proceeded to act like the daughter, Olivia, was still alive but just reclusive. Franny asked Max to get her daughter, Cara, but the grandmother, Theresa, had fallen ill already.
