Eh sorta, you only comment if someone asks you first, or if you put a hello infront of it. Here's an excample: (I'll make character names so its less confusing)

Yeah well I took a French class for an extra credit type thing at my school, now I'm just really into it! I not only like how it sounds, I also like how simple it is to learn, and memorize, the grammar patterns!

The only reason why I don't forget is because I practice and study outside of class; otherwise I'll forget too, and I don't want to forget the French language!
