Wow! I think you got it right on the first post. I think the book I read was Stork Naked. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check out the book to be sure.

PLOT DETAILS: Series of books set in a fantasy universe where the recurring theme is solving riddles to advance the plot. The riddles often have sexual double meanings. One book's plot involved crossing a river whose water if touched would make you fall in love with the next person you saw. The river was crossed by the female protagonist riding a centaur but she got splashed anyway. In another book in the same series a dragon excretes on the deck of a ship and the answer to the riddle is "poop deck".
