Reading has begin on Book #1: Circe!

I'm not sure if it was mentioned elsewhere and I missed it, what's our timeline for reading each book?

I grabbed the Audible book earlier today and got through a few chapters during my evening commute!

@Bill I'm not sure we need a timeline, do we? Everyone will read at a different speed, but I think that's fine. We can have topics for various sections of the book, including one for people that have finished the book. I'd love for people to be able to come in here in a month and pick up the book after others have finished. We'll try our best to avoid spoilers, but I'd like to encourage people to chat as much as they like.

@Matt Yes, me too! I'm through chapters 1-4 and so far I'm finding it really interesting.

In my other online book clubs we just make threads indicating what chapters/section our discussion covers.

@Jason that's perfect as I'm currently in a queue waiting for a copy from my library. It's my first time reading with a group so I wasn't quite sure what to expect.

This is kind of my first rodeo with a group as well... so I'm going to be as relaxed about it as we can be. I like the idea of conversations marked with chapters. That would help people avoid spoilers.

Got my digital download notice from the library, so I’m off and reading. 3 chapters in.

So far so good, 17 chapters in, and enjoying the book. Circe is not the type of book I would normally enjoy, which is exactly why I joined this group, to read books I would not normally read.

I look forward to hearing about the types of books you all enjoy (or not) as well as the ideas and thoughts Circe has inspired.

I'm generally a fan of history or sci-fi. Outside of Tolkien, the Dragonriders Of Pern series, and maybe some Neil Gaiman, I don't partake in much fantasy. I'd still classify Circe as fantasy, despite being based on mythology. Maybe that's why I find it so palatable.

It's been several days since I picked up Circe. I'm stuck around Chapter 12. This is mostly because I haven't been on the train in a few days, which is where I do most of my reading (or listening).
