SOLVED. Paranormal, maybe YA book [s]

I only read the first couple of chapters. It was about a young woman who had been abandoned by her mother, receives an invitation to a club on her 21st birthday. Something about the invitation makes her think it's from her mother (use of a nickname?)Ends up at the club with her friend, they are given drinks by the bartender that makes her friend very sick, turns out the drink is only for "special" people not normals like her friend. The main character is attacked at the club and is helped by another person who works there and is offered a job.
Other random facts: It's a "hidden" club, normal people can't see it
The main character and her friend start the night out with two other friends who ditch them after the first(?) bar
Feel like there is something about a flower, like a black orchid or something and I think the nickname mentioned in the invitation was little bird? It is driving me crazy that I can't find this book! I hope someone can help!
