Ria | 166 comments it says:

*Primary works for a series should not include boxsets, novellas, anthologies, or other extras in the series."

this implies that a collection of works by a single author counts as an anthology. technically, an anthology means a collection by several authors. I know that "anthology" gets used more and more to refer to collections (though not the reverse,) but as a pedant, this gets on my nerves, as much as "fiction novel".

While you're right about what an anthology is, on GR an anthology can be added to the series as a non-primary element as long as there's at least one story in the anthology that relates to the series. So the wording on the series page is correct.
