1x1 Kim and Shade RP (+Hush)

She moved and sat on the bed still holding the note looking at it, she was perplexed and confused she began to shiver as if violently cold. Thoughts memories but also fighting that man. Severin? Was that his name? But, why did HEB Dr. to begin with? If that was indeed him? It made no sense, he was trying to help her and against those guys, then why didn’t he just stop them?
After Shade had finished cleaning up he padded to Kim’s bedroom, wanting to check on her and make sure she was comfortable before he left her to rest. He knocked on the door but didn’t open it before he called. “Hey Kim? It’s alright you don’t have to open the door. Just want to know if you’re okay? Comfortable? Do you need anything? Then I’ll just let you rest.” He said to her.

Shade perked up at that and immediately slipped in, a worried expression in his face. “Yeah? Is something wrong? You okay?” He asked quickly. He didn’t shut the door behind him, not wanting Kim to feel trapped in the room with him, for he knew how that felt when everything was still raw... But then he saw what she was holding, the crumpled up note he recognised well, and he went still. Though his face was unreadable as he waited for Kim to speak.

((i’m off to bed sweet dreams))
((Good night :) ))
Shade sagged as she held up the note and asks what it was, though he recovered quickly. He pursed his lips and walked towards her, as long as she didn’t react negatively, then he would stop. “That, is how I managed to find you.” He answered. “It has the address of where you were. It was hidden in the grocery bags.” He said, gesturing with a nod at the bags. “To help me rescue you.”

Shade stared at her, then heaved a long sigh. He suspected she wasn’t going to react well. But he was ready to explain. Severin wasn’t as bad as Kim probably thought he was. “Severin. He left the note for me. To help me find you.” Shade’s hands slipped awkwardly into his pockets. “He’s... Sort of a friend of mine.” Then he quickly held a hand up. “I know what you’re thinking, look let me explain. Severin isn’t actually a bad guy...”

Shade grimaced and then took a step back with a wince. Indeed seeing Kim this mad was quite a shock. Good lord Severin you idiot... He thought to himself. He held up his hands in an attempted gesture of innocence. “It was an act. Whatever he was doing, he was trying to keep you alive. The other two he was with were the only ones trying to kill you. Or... Worse. But Severin was trying to protect you. It’s just, he couldn’t let them know that was what he was doing.” He explained slowly, hoping that made sense. He then frowned seriously, and nodded to Kim. “Yes, he is.” He spoke firmly. “And he’s also the reason Hush and I got out of that place. He helped us escape. He HATES the place Kim. But he can’t take down his own father, he’s too powerful. So he uses the fact that his father trusts him to do all that he can to help. His father trusts him enough that he lets him have access to the slaves, and take them home to... do whatever. Or so he thinks. Really, Severin just gives us a night off from our duties. One night he took me, he gave me food and a warm place to sleep and everything.” He pursed his lips. “I... I asked him to take Hush a lot when he arrived at the brothel. And Severin did so for me.” He looked up and met Kim’s gaze. “His father obviously must have sent him to carry out revenge on you... And he sent two other accomplices to ‘help’ Severin do it. He had to get around them to protect you.”
Though then he frowned. “Though he hurt you...? Did he do anything... Particularly bad? Because if so I’ll give him a piece of my mind.” He growled a little. But maybe Kim would realise upon hearing all this, Severin has actually never done the worst of things right? Yes he’d threatened her and knocked her out with the knife, but in front of the two lackeys of his father he’d had to, and well he’d talked with them as much as he could before doing the deed, as if indeed stalling. More would be explained further about his behaviour... But later at the warehouse, perhaps the ‘sparring session’ Severin has had with her has also been stalling. Yes he’d hurt her, but nowhere near as badly as he could have. And he’d even interrupted Maxon and Xander during their horrific deed, trying to stop them with promise of money instead of gratification. And well... there was reason for his hesitation, if anything.
Shade sighed. “Likely Severin was doing whatever it took to stall as much as he could, but I know he can be a little harsh... He was raised tough. He’ll do whatever it takes.” He gave her an apologetic glance. “But at least that meant he would have done whatever it took to keep you alive. Just like he promised me in the note. And I can tell you, he wasn’t going to let them do what they might have done...” He barely dared to say it but he knew he had to.

Shade raised his brows. “You... wanted him to kill those other two in the alley? Kim, Severin May be brutal, but he’s actually never killed anyone, and I don’t think he ever wanted to. You can’t necessarily expect someone, to just kill... Can you?” He realised she probably wasn’t thinking with complete logic, but still... He pursed his lips. “I can’t believe he killed one of them as it is. That’s probably why he wanted us to leave. I’m not sure how he would be handling it...” He murmured. He grimaced as Kim flopped back onto the bed. He didn’t know what else to say or do.
“Maybe... When you’re feeling a little better, I can take you to meet him? Properly. And you can ask him all your questions, yell at him all you want.” He suggested, though wondered if that was really a good idea... He didn’t want to freak Kim out more.

"Kim I know! Don't you think I know..." Shade said, softly but passionately. "You have no idea how much I want to do to them." He growled, snapping his head to the side. Though he flinched as she shouted about never wanting to see Severin again. "Okay, okay of course. You don't have to." Now he was the idiot. Of course she wouldn't want to, it was way too soon, and well really what else would he expect. He couldn't ask that of Kim. "I'm sorry, that was wrong of me to suggest..." he murmured. He finally approached Kim, and then made a questioning gesture, inquiring if he could sit on the bed.

Shade sat down gently, meeting Kim's gaze. "I'm so sorry Kim... I'm so sorry this happened to you." He murmured, a sadness now seeming to fill his gaze. "I feel like I brought this upon you. If you'd never met us this never would have happened to you. And that makes me feel... so horrible..." He sucked in a breath and then looked to her, resting a hand on hers under the covers. "I will do whatever I can to help, I PROMISE. Whatever I can do in repayment for that fact I will do. I will be here for you always. As long as you need me." He said firmly, his eyes shining.

Shade's mouth formed a tight line as she said that and he narrowed his eyes. Perhaps it was an expression of hurt that flickered across his face for the barest second, but then he only looked determined. "No, that's just the thing. I AM promising Kim. I'm not going to leave until my debt to you, and to others here, is repaid. Not after all you've done for me. Then he tilted his head, and attempted the faintest smile. "Besides, Hush still lives here, somewhere in this country anyway. And damn it all I'm not leaving until I find his family and get him back home. You and Hush, I'm staying for the both of you. I won't be leaving anytime soon." He told her with a nod.
Then the light expression left his face. Not to be replaced by anything bad, but the next thing he wanted to say was, well, important. "I owe it to you Kim. And I can't believe how much you've done for me, or how much you've let yourself care. I need to find some way to bestow that back to you." He squeezed her hand, and sucked in a breath. "I found your letter... The one you wrote... to me. I-I read it. And... I can't even describe how it made me feel. Can't even put into words how thankful I am to you..." And the prickle of tears suddenly filled his own eyes, though Shade hardly even realised/ Didn't care even as his voice shook now. "And the fact that you said...my heart inspires you. Well, I feel the same about you, tenfold. In fact..." And with that he pulled the letter out from his pocket. A little crumpled but still in good shape. He looked at it and folded it to a certain place, then handed it to her. "This part of the letter could be from me to you." His mouth quirked crookedly and he shrugged. "Give or take. There's just some parts there that I need you to read. In fact you have no idea how true it is... from me to you."
The part of the letter he'd showed to her read:
You feel dirty, tainted, you say that they took something from you.
I can never understand your pain, the violation, assault on your heart, spirit, identity…
But I do know this, they can’t have you. You survived, you are free and never truly were theirs. You are so strong, your love of Hush, and amazing heart… it inspires me.
I wish I could hug you, show you a good healthy physical touch. You deserve the love and compassion of everyone you meet.
One day you can, it’s still so soon, but one day you will be able to. Don’t be so hard on yourself. You are not tainted, they are not strong enough to taint you.
You are you, you control your destiny. There is nothing sick, tainted, or disgusting about you. You are amazing, pure and wonderful. You are my friend, you and Hush deserve the best. I don’t have the courage to say how much you two mean to me, how in such a short time I realized not only how lonely I have been but how much I’m going to miss both of you when it comes time for you to go home. I’m not going to be selfish, I want both of you to have the best and happiest lives. God knows you deserve it!
Because frankly, no one ever could fully understand someone else when it came to an experience like this. It affected everyone differently. So the words were really just as accurate. After Kim would have read the letter, Shade squeezed her hand again as he spoke. "Those are your own words... Please... Have them for yourself as well..." He murmured. He then cocked his head at her. "And well, you sort of got your wish of hugging me. A good and healthy one." He said, lips twitching upwards. He was referring to last night, when she'd cuddled him as a lynx in her sleep, trying to stave away her nightmares. And he'd helped gladly. Before she could panic or worry about that he squeezed her hand yet again. "Thank you for that... And..."
Then he took the letter and folded it again until only the very last line was visible. There he showed it to her, but he also read it aloud:
"I don’t know if this even makes any sense, hopefully my heart carries through. And the two of you" he changed it to just 'you', "Understand how much I love you…"
((Sorry that idea struck and I went with the wind for it XD))

Her eyes widened however as he spoke, she had wrote that letter what seemed like an eternity ago. However hearing that he had read it a letter she hadn’t been prepared to give him yet in someway was glad he found it. Her face became so scarlet red and hot, that she feared her tears she was still crying might become steam on her face. Perhaps in some loony toons cartoon or some comedy, they would have.
Reading her own words, seeing these words that had of course been completely genuine and heartfelt before now, they took on new meaning with what she had been through in such a short amount of time after writing this. But then when he said the last line she wasn’t crying anymore, she was looking at him in disbelief. He just said he loved her... and there was something in her heart that hurt, and some sort of hope that she tried to keep buried. There is many types of love, she told herself that it wasn’t romantic love of course. Why did she feel the need to make that distinction to herself? The time when he spoke the compliments to her before he had panicked and realized he was slipping into a seduction pattern. She had never had anyone talk to her like that, she had never even allowed herself to have thoughts of romanticism. Even at her story she floundered on that sort of thing, sure she could write romantic scenes but when it became time for actual romantic content take place, holding hands hugging and kissing. She couldn’t do it, now she has been holding his hand this whole time sitting with him on her bed and her stomach begin to twist not because she was disgusted with because there were something she was desperately wanting to do but didn’t know how to do it.
“You, love me?” She wanted to hide again, yet she was still too stunned to even act like she was wanting to hide. It was as if the words did not compute they were foreign languages that she had never heard translated into English or whatever language it was she spoke now.
((Oh my gosh! So perfect timing!))
((Awww! XD))
Shade blinked and seemed to straighten slightly, not to pull away from her, but as if the reality of the situation was only striking just now. As she asked the question, he felt his throat dry a little, but at the same time he didn’t feel fear. He swallowed, eyes darting for a moment before he made sure to meet her gaze. “I-I... Don’t know how else to put it.” He then cocked his head at her. “I could ask you the same question.” He asked, raising a brow at her. After all she’d said it in the letter first. Always one to try and mix humour into things. Though then he sucked in a breath and went on. “But... I think it’s his I really feel. When I read your letter... And then, when you didn’t come back... God I felt... sick. And then I didn’t rest until I found you. I could think of nothing else. It made me realise, how much you mean to me...” He murmured. Then he squeezed her hand, some sort of certainty falling over his face. “I do. I truly do.” He answered her.
And maybe others would say it was way too soon, that the period of time that these two had known each other was way too short. But one had to realise, during that short time these two had spent every single moment together. Really they had gotten to know each other more than most people ever did in that amount of time. Even if it wasn’t yet fully clear what kind of love it was, it was clear that it was a beginning. Shade suddenly sucked in a shaky breath, feeling just as nervous about this, but he said it. It was something he had to say. “I... I want to give you all I can. No matter, how long it takes me.”

“I do love you Shade...” She said it with confidence, but mixed with fear. “But... I don’t know if I know what to do with that, or... or how to act. Y-you said things... and though they weren’t what you wanted to say, they meant a lot to me... I... never had anyone make me feel... the way you do.” She looked away now, too embarrassed, and afraid. Did she expect laughter? Or worse, rejection. Eyes burning as she waited for some sort of response. How could he want to ‘give’ her so much, to be with her and promise her like... like he did!? Why would anyone want her of all people?
((Aww little Kim breaking my heart!))
It didn’t matter that Kim’s tone might have been uncertain, or the words she said afterward. Because just as she said those words, that she loved him too, Shade could have swore his heart enveloped his throat for a moment and he skipped a breath. He thought similarly to her. How could someone manage to love him? He licked his lips nervously, but as she said she didn’t know what to do with that he smiled faintly. “Hey, you know what, neither do I. But I guess... We can figure out. Or we can just do nothing about it now, until we figure it out. Until things get better. How about, all we have to do for now, is be there for each other?” He asked her gently. At what she said about the things he’d said to her, he frowned in confusion for a moment before realisation struck and he seemed to pale slightly, but then he swallowed and made himself speak. “You know what Kim, I-I did mean what I said. It was the truth in that I think it really was how I feel about you, in a way. I think... That’s why I freaked out so bad. Because it was... my real feelings, though, mixing with... ugh whatever.” He shook his head with a shudder, wanting to stay as far from that as possible. As she then confessed about no one else making her feel the way she did, he smiled softly. “I feel the same way...” He murmured to her.
((Damn, I feel like Shade should actually reveal his real name to her here... It’ll take away the epic ness of him revealing it in the court trial but I feel like if he doesn’t do it till then Kim is going to feel betrayed that he hasn’t told her.... Idk what do You think?))

“Y-you really think those things about me?“ There was an almost desperation and her tone as well as disbelief. That anyone will think about her like that, to say those sorts of things. It was a shame that it was tainted by what that place made him do made him resort to. Yet now she was tearing up for an entirely different reason.
Though the fact that he felt the same way about her just shocked her further. How long have they been living together the three of them? A few months? And already these people were so important in her life more in Porten than anyone she had ever had in her life and though she still wanted to bring her parents killers to justice just didn’t seem as important as these two ‘living‘ people that were here right now.
((honestly she knows him by this name so unless he’s wanting her to call him by the other name she won’t feel betrayed. As far as she’s concerned this is the Identity he chose to tell her about and so that’s who he is to her.))
Shade probably looked somewhat similar, caught somewhere between relief and happiness but also uncertainty and nervousness. But he felt equal relief at Kim’s reaction to his suggestion, and finally he gave a small genuine smile. “Good.” He said softly, his smile turning a little shy if anything. And well he wasn’t really a shy person.
At her question he inhaled haltingly, but managed a quirk of his mouth. “I do. Those words came from at least somewhere rooted in truth.” He ducked his head bashful and gave a shrug. Honestly he hadn’t really had much experience with this sort of thing either, there hadn’t exactly been anyone he’d liked back at the circus, they’d all just been friends. “Besides of course I meant what I said about how amazing you are. You’re the kindest, most incredible person I’ve ever met and I can hardly believe someone... as beautiful as you in so many ways, even exists. And even more so, that I was somehow led to you.”
Shade gave her a small smile and then pulled back slightly. “I’ll... let you rest?” He suggested questioningly, looking like he was about to stand up and leave.

She exhaled sharply. “Would you be willing to, stay with me again? A-as an animal of course!” Her face was so red! She shook as she awaited a response. What if he says no? What if he says yes, but his feeling are hurt? Is it even appropriate to ask?
((I meant to say ah cool that’s good then! As long as she won’t feel betrayed or anything, so great :D))
Shade looked at her as she grasped his hand, then shifted his gaze to her face as she stammered out her question. He felt a pang at mention of Hush, even though he knew the younger boy was probably fine. Finally he smiled softly and gave a nod. He found, he had no qualms about it at all. “Sure. I’m fine with that.” He told her gently. He squeezed her hand. “Just let me quickly check on Hush. Make sure he knows where we are, set him up with a book or something.” He patted her hand as he held it before standing, since presumably she was going to let him do what he said. “You know we really need to buy monopoly or something. He loves that game.” He said and seemed to even manage a grin.

Shade smiled softly, then immediately perked up as she said she actually had three versions of monopoly. “That’s a great idea! Where are they if you don’t mind? I can get Hush to set them up and organise it all, and do what it suggested, he’ll have fun doing that.” He said, smiling wider now. He headed for the door but waited for Kim’s response.

"Great!" Shade said cheerfully. "He'll love that. He's a bit of an organiser." He grinned and finally pushed the door open further. "Alright, I'll be right back. I'll set him up." He told Kim and hurried back out to the living room to Hush.
Luckily his amazing surrogate little brother was so understanding. Instantly he was just asking how Kim was through sign language and Shade smiled at him. "She seems a little better, she's going to rest and I'm going to keep her company. But so you're not just sitting here doing nothing, wouldn't want you to get bored, she had a nice idea for something you can do!" He then headed for the closet where Kim had told him the monopoly sets were, spotted them, and dragged them down with a grin. "Look bud, monopoly!" Hush indeed perked up, turning to look. Shade brought them over to the floor in front of the couch and coffee table. He then explained how there were three sets, all with pieces missing, but Kim had had the idea to combine into their own sort of unique version. He had elastic bands and other stuff to keep everything organised and he could set to making up a proper game.
"Then perhaps we can have a go at your creation later." Shade suggested with a wink. To his relief, Hush looked delighted, and was already starting to open up the boxes and rummage through the pieces, his expression one of concentration. Shade smiled. "Come get me if you need anything alright?" Hush looked up with a small smile and gave a little nod and it did Shade's heart good to see him seem so normal. "Have fun." He told him and ruffled Hush's hair before he got up and strode back towards Kim's room. Though suddenly, he felt the slightest stab of apprehension. A bedroom. A bed. Laying there, with someone. He sucked in a breath and pushed the strange feelings down. Then with a huff, he quickly shifted, into a black and white border collie. He paced a little and quickly any negative feelings dissipated. His tail was even wagging of its own accord as he finally pushed his way back through the door of Kim's bedroom and scurried over to greet her.

((Oh my gosh, wouldn't you just check it in the morning anyway, if you know you haven't replied? XD))

Kim of course even though the walls are probably pretty thin she wasn’t listening to what they were saying in the other room. She was more focused on making the bed more comfortable and decided to change into another ground since she had been wearing this one since yesterday, true she probably needed to take a shower but more than likely she didn’t stink or something she wasn’t capable of thinking like that right now anyway. However any worries cares or concerns seem to completely melt away when she saw a beautiful Border collie into the room she couldn’t help giggling like a little girl at the site of the dog. “Shade?” She asked in disbelief. She was a dog lover, true though she loved all animals and the animal last night was wonderful yet she had a special place in her heart for dogs. Always had, even her eyes were sparkling sapphires filled with delight.
Shade made a cheerful whining noise as Kim seemed to want to clarify if it was him, and he play-bowed at her for a second before jumping up onto the bed, tail still wagging merrily. Though he made sure to sit, giving her plenty of room and letting her make her move when she felt comfortable rather than him tackling her. Sure she’d already reacted positively but it was still good to make sure.
((Ohh I see. I tend to just rely on notifications, you can easily access any RP that’s been active recently and go straight to the end, maybe that would be easier?))

When he sat down she settled onto the blankets still smiling looking at him. Hopefully he didn’t feel bad that his human form didn’t have this quite same affect on her. However she wasn’t sure how to act next just because well it was still him even though it was a dog normally she would’ve Pat next to her or blew kisses or called the dog. But he was a human too. So instead she asked a question. “Where would you like to lay?”
((Then it still relies on me remembering if I did reply to something or not. That’s why I rely on unread because if I click it then the notification is old but unread is still unread. ))
((Well if you’re not sure or you can’t quite remember it’s super easy to just check it either way XD I’m always like ‘wait did I reply’ and then I click on the notif to go and check.))
It delighted Shade when Kim laughed and he seemed just as cheerful in his dog form, relaxed and tail wagging. His tongue didn’t loll as much as a normal dog’s might have because he was indeed still human some actions still felt a little unnatural, or he needed to be in the form for a while before it really took over. He watched as she settled into the blankets, and of corse he didn’t feel bad about his animal form having more of an effect on her than her human form, it was the same with Hush actually. Anytime he hadn’t been able to cheer him up in his human form, he’d always managed as an animal. Then as she asked him the question he pricked up his ears and tilted his head before picking his way over, circling, and curling himself up close to Kim. He craned his head to look at her in that cute way that dogs did, nearly looking at her upside down from his position, checking if this was fine.

Kim’s hear melted at the antics. I’m circling and cuddling next to her and then just looking at her that way. Her smile grew so big her cheeks begin to hurt and she giggled. Despite her self and any reluctance she had felt she found herself wrapping her arms around him. Hugging him as she settled down ready to sleep. Though she held him, her mind begin Turn over recent events. “ I know…“ She started softly. “You can’t speak in this form, at least human words… But, I want to thank you again, both of you have done so much for me. I know you say the same, but it’s hard to put into words how special this time has been. I always believed men were bad. But the only thing they wanted was… “
She couldn’t bring herself to say the words but surely he would get the meaning. Perhaps the fact that he couldn’t speak much like hush couldn’t speak some help made her feel less intimidated so that she could speak. “End it was scary inviting you both back here, and yet you too struggled with the same thing. Worse… you didn’t believe there were hardly any good people in the world. And our time together made it where we saw we were both wrong. And sometimes right.” Her eyes watered, so she buried her face in his fur. “ I trust you, and if you say I should speak with... him.” Meaning Severin. “ I will, I know you wouldn’t let him or anyone else hurt me. I feel like I constantly want to apologize for how I’ve been acting, but I know neither of you judge me so I don’t have to. Just makes me sad because I can’t give you both what you both really truly deserve.“ She was referencing the words in the letter sort of, she wanted to lavish love and affection on them and a good and healthy way.
She gave a yawn. The whole time that she had been speaking she had sounded steadily more tired. “I wish we had found each other sooner, the three of us. I wish we could’ve escaped into another world like in the chronicles of Narnia. You magical boy could become any animal under the sun... it’s like a fairy tale...” she was drifting. “You rescued me... just, like...” Her breathing grew so deep now. “A story...” and then she was out.
((I hope this is alright?))
((Huh, see I'm under the impression the other method takes less energy? You don't have to scroll through all the unread topics or even click on the group. I often just idly click my notifs when I'm bored and tired for some reason lol XD))
Shade started a little as she suddenly came forward and hugged him, but whenever it was in the form of an animal he was fine. He was used to Hush hugging him, and now it seemed he'd become used to her as well. But then he pricked his ears as she started to speak, not moving and letting her cuddle him as she settled. But as she spoke more and more he started to feel a pang that he couldn't speak back. She'd really had that fear, about men? He'd had no idea...
He continued to listen, stilling further as she talked about him and Hush. He might have chuckled at her comment about both of them realising they'd been wrong, though sometimes right. Though he was very surprised when she then said she would talk to Severin, if he wanted. But she couldn't have been more right. He wouldn't let anyone else touch her. He so painfully wanted to say that she didn't have to apologise for anything, though thankfully she at least said that herself. Though he found himself wondering what exactly she meant when she said she couldn't give them what they truly deserved. Because as he thought, in most ways, she could. And she already had given so much.
He heard her starting to drift off, but was taken aback at the words she murmured, as she called him a magical boy, and likened this all to a fairy tale. Called him a rescuer, like in some sort of wonderful story. He blew out a breath through his nose but he couldn't give the reaction he wished in this form. He could only blink slowly, and stare ahead, his mind whirling with the echo of her words. Though then he let himself close his eyes and somehow, he managed to drift off too.
((Of course! It's great! Perfect for us to skim and then skip to where we want. So do we want to skip to the day they go to talk to Sev?))

Kim apparently was an expert at monologue and confession when no one else could respond properly. The exhaustion and her heart mind body and spirit weighed on her, but at the same time his presents itself helped give her some relief. Then having his close proximity and reassuring presence as well as a cuddly dog to hug. Helped her go into a nice deep restful slumber. The part of her that was a poet and a writer wanted to share her heart with everyone and yet when it came to speaking it most of the time she was in capable of it. It was sad that she had to be brought to such a state for her to be able to truly express her heart.
A surprisingly wonderful night sleep with only a few mild nightmares that she woke up from quickly and presumably was comforted by either his presence or some sort of action he took that let her go back to sleep. The next week was probably the toughest. It wasn’t that she didn’t have nightmares anymore after that but a fierce warrior with wings that was tall like a giant would appear in them who looked strangely a lot like Shade. He became her guardian angel of the dreamworld whenever they got bad she found herself calling on him and the dream always got better usually after he thrashed the villains properly.
Though it would be a lie to say she didn’t have some anxiety as the day to talk with Sevrin At last arrived. She was finally able to move about the apartment comfortably but she still hadn’t left the house. Not even to want to go for a walk, not even if Shade I would’ve offered to accompany her either in human or animal form she just wasn’t ready yet. She wanted to be ready though. May be meeting him with some he’ll give her some measure of courage or maybe she was just a coward. Though she knew the both of the other boys in this apartment would’ve argued with her fervently about that statement she still couldn’t help feeling it
((Yeah sounds good!))
((True of course, you must just get way more notifications than me, because the only ones I tend to get are from our RP's anyway. I just like how it brings you to the new post right away and you can comment right under it. But yeah, whatever works for everyone ;)
Quick question first because Shade would have organised it, I would assume Kim probably doesn't exactly want Severin coming into her house of course, but she probably wouldn't feel that comfortable going to his apartment either would she?
So a neutral location then? Like maybe the diner she works at? Familiar and safe and the friendly boss is there to help too just in case? XD))

Yeah! There could be another reason she’s really anxious because she hasn’t left the house yet for sure he’s gonna walk with her to the diner but it would be funny, not funny ha ha but funny ironic that this walk that she has made so many times is actually difficult for her))
((Okay cool! XD))
Though not fully aware of it himself, Shade likely acted like a guardian angel for Kim across the week. There was hardly ever a time he wasn't close, even if he made sure to respect her wish for space when she wanted it, but presumably she felt comfortable in his presence. And he doted over her like she was a sick child, cooking for her, cleaning for her and doing any other job that needed doing. Whenever Kim was feeling up to it, they also spent their time playing Hush's newly invented version of Monopoly together or just sitting and reading. Shade took care of any trips for groceries or whatnot.
A few days later, he phoned Severin to organise the meeting. He didn't do it in front of Kim but informed her straight after. Severin had agreed to meet them at a neutral location, and Shade had suggested the diner where Kim worked, though he hadn't told Severin she worked there, or how close it was to her apartment, just that it was a place she liked. As long as Kim agreed to it, it was confirmed. Shade respected her wishes of not wanting to go anywhere, he could understand it easily. He was happy enough that she was moving about the apartment as it was.
Though finally the day came. Shade had set up the meeting for 11am. Probably best not to force Kim to linger on it for too long. Since it was not a long walk, at 10:45, he approached Kim presumably on the couch. "Ready to go?" He murmured to her. But he had one last trick up his sleeve to hopefully make her feel the tiniest bit less anxious. Hush had known about the meeting, but had been under the impression he wasn't coming. Shade turned to him now. "Hey Hush, want to come see Severin?"
At that, Hush lifted his head from his book and perked up, then he smiled faintly and gave an enthusiastic nod before hopping off the lounge. Truthfully, this wasn't planned or anything, it was Hush's genuine reaction. Shade hoped that seeing that even Hush was fond of Severin would make Kim feel a little better, since she seemed to have such a nice connection with Hush.

Indeed though as the time came Kim was more anxious than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Yet, this clever move by Shade totally caught her off guard. Hush, who avoided going outside on most any occasion, was willing to go. More than that he seemed genuinely happy to go see Sevrin! She was floored. An uncomfortable knot twisted in her stomach. Guilt? Disbelief? Either way, for the first time she was considering maybe he wasn’t as bad as she thought. The words Shade told her before came rushing back now. How he would save the slaves for a night, but... maybe he cared less about girls. Maybe he only had compassion on boys!
After all Fear and Pain, hold no logic. Still, she trusted he wouldn’t be let to hurt her. She just struggled to believe he ‘really’ cared, but maybe it was unfair to say he should have ‘done more’. He was probably in a precarious position, and only could do so much. Still...
Shade grinned in Hush’s direction before turning to Kim. Since they didn’t really have any belongings to take there wasn’t much to check, so all he did was hand her her phone back in case she wanted to hold onto it. He tilted his head at her. “Alright, ready to go then?” He addressed both her and Hush, glancing at both of them so Kim didn’t feel pressured that it was just on her.
