1x1 Kim and Shade RP (+Hush)

Adam sighed as he leaned back, the sofa groaned. As he reclined. “Uh-oh, I think it’s protesting...” He chuckled to himself. “Well... you know. I understand if you don’t like me being here. I can sit in the hall. Let you have the place to yourself, just be a big bolder to block the entrance.” He looked over his shoulder.
Shade leaned forward as they parked and Spade explained the situation. “I suppose.” He answered as Spade asked if he was ready to try his tracking abilities. To be completely honest he’d probably only said it to convince Spade to come get him, he wasn’t actually sure how useful they would be... Presumably they got out of the car. Shade frowned in thought. “A wolf would have better smell then a domestic dog right?” He inquired to Spade as he shut the car door.
Hush continued to watch Adam, though at his words about not liking him being here Hush actually shook his head. Thing was, Hush was still a very nice boy who didn’t like to make anyone feel bad, but he of course now had the added dead which made it a bit more difficult. He signed ‘its fine’ to Adam, though realised the man might not understand, and so he forced a faint smile to try and communicate that while he couldn’t help being a little nervous, the guy didn’t have to worry about being here, as long as he did nothing bad at least...

Adam smiled. “You sign?” He didn’t know what it meant though but it was cool.“ Well as long as I’m not bothering you. Do you by chance have a book around here? I don’t know about you but if I don’t keep my mind occupied I’m more likely to worry and get anxious.” His crooked grin was warm.
((Oh wow I only just made the connection to what actual bloodhound dogs look like I never realised they were those dogs... I thought it was just a general term XD))
Shade grunted. “True. Bloodhound it is. Here’s the brush.” Shade passed it to Spade since of course he had to be the one to hold it and stick it out for Shade to sniff. Then Shade shifted into a brown bloodhound dog.
Hush smiled bashfully and ducked his head as he nodded. Then as Adam asked for a book Hush looked a little concerned. He reached for the sign language book, hesitated but then offered it to Adam with what appeared to be an apologetic grimace on his face. It was the only book here presumably, apart from the cut up magazines he and Kim had used for makeshift puzzles.

Adam shook his head and chuckled as he took the book. “It’s fine, maybe you’ll be willing to practice with me a little bit. It can’t Hurt to develop a new skill!” He began to flip through it.
Shade stepped forward as the dog now and leaned into sniff the brush, inhaling the scent. The scent of Kim he realised, of course he’d realised it before not saying something as silly as that, but there was something more... profound about this. With a grunt the dog put his nose to the ground and smelled as he padded about, trying to catch the scent on the pavement. It was at that moment that he did! He really did! Shade stiffened as he picked up the familiar scent and then he moved forward and the trail continued and so he picked up his pace, his dog tail wagging by instinct as his excitement rose. His creator figured it would be pretty easy to pick up a scent when one actually had the ability to smelling it, how hard could it be?
__________
At that Shade managed a smile and shrugged shyly. Though indeed he was happy to practice with Adam and would go on to sign the gestures and point out the meanings in the book and as time went on Hush finally seemed to grow a little less nervous.
((Okay feel free to focus on just Spade and Shade now thanks for doing that little bit with Hush though I wanted to have them interact just a little ^_^ ))

Adam was pleased to see the willingness from the young man and he proceeded to look through the book and then try and practice what he was learning he was in the Cecilius quick on the pick up at some people but he did his best so that he could hopefully carry-on at least minor conversation and get an idea he started with the basics the things that would help a tourist Maybe, so that’s what he spent the rest of their time together doing at least until it was time to eat then he would actually just order some pizza instead of actually making something. Sure to ask with the young man liked, And order one just for him just the way he liked it. He was around kids a lot I knew how to act with them.
((LOL no problem, I liked it too and it was good to leave them on somewhat good terms Adam is a good guy so. Also I figured. ;-) ))
((Damn it you make me want to play Hush again now! XD It’s fine I’ll talk about the pizza when the group get back because they’ll see then anyway.))
Shade didn’t exactly run that fast in fact he only trotted to make sure he was following the trail as accurately as possible. He took them through the zigzag of alleys, barely knowing where he was actually going since his nose was just to the ground he could have crashed into a wall if it had led him to one. Finally, the scent led up to a spot. And there laid several dropped bags of food. Shade halted abruptly as he came up to them, then shifted back into his human form. Frowning deeply he bent down to study them.

Finally, the scent led up to a spot. And there laid several dropped bags of food. Shade halted abruptly as he came up to them, then shifted back into his human form. Frowning deeply he bent down to study them.

((Well that’s the thing isn’t it... He SAID he was moving the bags but... Just no questions! XD All will be revealed...))

Spade hurried after him even though he was trotting it was still significantly faster than humans walked. Because dogs at a trotting pace were decently fast. When I stopped and he found bags he looked to see if they looked like the grocery store bags because he had seen what that grocery stores bags look like it’s distinct logo won’t be on them. “What’s inside?“ His heart was pounding but not because of the small jog, but 1 million terrible situations were going through his head now.
Indeed Shade had developed a bad feeling about this. He picked up the bag that had sprawled onto its side and started to spill its contents, and it would be revealed they were indeed the grocery store bags Spade would recognise. Shade rummaged through it, then pulled out, of all things, the fuguzetta. It took him a moment of studying it, but then he stiffened and inhaled sharply, staring. “Is this... a fuguzetta...?” He said half to himself. Spade likely wouldn’t know what he was talking about.

Shade sucked in a breath, then turned and continued to rummage through the bag, grabbing some other things out of it. As he studied some of the items, a stone formed in his stomach as he realised. The ingredients... “Kim... She was trying to get me some of the foods I told her about... that I used to have at home... She was trying to... get some things for me.” And all of a sudden before he even realised it tears sprouted to his eyes. There was no question now these had been Kim’s bags. And now, clearly something terrible had happened to her, people had attacked her...

Shade was still for a long time, staring at the fuguzetta and the grocery bag. He finally jerked at Spade’s words and straightened, frowning. “I’ll check.” He murmured before shifting back into the bloodhound. Setting his nose to the ground once again he sniffed and sniffed for the trial. But well since Kim hadn’t moved from this spot until she’d been lifted by her captors, indeed there was no more trail for Shade to follow. And Shade was pretty sure he could smell... other scents. He shifted back and turned Spade grimly. “It seems to. It’s as if she came to a dead stop. And... I’m not sure... But I think I could smell... others...”

Shade jerked as Spade addressed him and he widened his eyes before shaking his head. “No. How would I know? I saw nothing but the brothel.” His tone was more fearful then angry. “And I highly doubt they’d go back there right? Besides, I don’t know who it is.” They didn’t have any time to waste! But what could they do exactly? “What... What now?” Did Spade have any ideas?
((Wait what did he say after ‘the ones who got away?’))
((Wait what did he say after ‘the ones who got away?’))

Spade tensed. “ I think, maybe you heard something even something simple and passing someone mentioning something in code it could be something as obscure as a farmhouse or a safe place…“ He didn’t have much of a lead. They didn’t know who got away that was the thing they got away, but he could make sure they more aggressively interrogated the ones they had. “ our only other option is to fall the money. That could take hours to even get a direction we need to go...”
((Sorry ‘fall the money?’
And also actually I almost forgot I need to answer a question anyway. Do you want Spade to come to the place where Kim is too or ultimately have Shade rescue Kim alone?))
And also actually I almost forgot I need to answer a question anyway. Do you want Spade to come to the place where Kim is too or ultimately have Shade rescue Kim alone?))

I would prefer if it was just Shade, but at the same time it depends on how it goes down and spade could be working on taking the other people down in the meantime or something.
Are we about to pause this one and go back to Kim and see what’s happening there?))
((Yep so I was kinda hoping it would be just Shade. So do you mind if Shade asks to take everything back to the apartment and ask if he can just sit and think alone while Spade goes investigating some other way?
Yes definitely. I’m wondering actually because what I do with Shade at the end will give things away a bit... Let’s do this a little more and I’ll let you know when to switch.))
Shade suddenly gritted his teeth. “They didn’t exactly discuss their business in front of their slaves Spade.” He said in a bit of a growl but then instantly sucked in a breath and tried to calm down. He was getting angry but that was no excuse. “Sorry.” He murmured after a moment. He frowned. “What do you mean follow the money?”

Of course!))
Spade sighed. “I’m sorry, but there was a chance, a slip up, it happens, but...” He trailed off, however for the question he nodded. “I can look into the finances closer, see if there are subsidiaries, businesses that are fronts, places they might use to hide out...”
“Yeah I get it.” Shade muttered, running a hand through his hair. “Bit hard though when we’re kept locked in rooms for most of our days and with clients the rest of the time.” It was surprising he was talking about it but it was like Shade had become detached, his eyes even seemed dull. Though he gave a nod as Spade seemed to come up with a plan. “Okay. I’ll... I’ll try and think if I know anything. How about I... take these back to the apartment and I don’t know just... think? And let you do what you need to do.” He said, his tone somewhat languid. This just seemed so hopeless...

Shade only nodded numbly. The same feeling of dread was growing within him. "Okay. Thank you..." He whispered in response to Spade promising to get as many people as possible on this. At least... they were doing all they could... He looked up and quickly followed Spade back to the car, still staring at the fuguzetta in his hands as he went. It was only making him feel worse about Kim now... She'd gotten caught up in all this because of him and now who knew what was happening to her...

Spade didn’t take long to get them back to the flat. “You’ll forgive me if I don’t come up. I’ll keep you apprised.” And once the kid was out of the car I took the hairbrush with him, and pass the laptop to be returned to the home. Then took off, he didn’t say why he took the hairbrush but he had hoped they got closer and could use dogs to find her if they got a building her place to search because it was possible she was stashed somewhere. So he didn’t want to say the other reason, because they would be able to find a dead body easier if they have a scent.
((XD))
"Of course." Shade replied immediately. "Be as quick as you can." He took Kim's laptop to bring back up to the apartment though didn't much notice that Spade kept the brush. Farewelling Spade in a solemn manner, Shade turned and raced back up the stairs to the apartment. He rapped on the door as he arrived.

Back at the apartment Hush had tried to communicate to Adam that ordering a whole pizza just for him probably wasn’t the best idea but the man likely insisted on it. Hush was encouraged enough to get a pizza with the things he liked, he ended up asking for a Hawaiian pizza with mushrooms as well, a little eccentric yes but it was one thing he knew to be his favourite. When the time came to eat, he was of course still inevitably a little anxious. He managed not to gag at least, but he ate slowly, as more of an effort of avoiding that, and ended up only eating about two slices of his pizza.
He looked eagerly to the door when the knock sounded.
Shade glanced up as Adam answered the door but rather wordlessly ducked inside and shut the door behind him. He checked to see if Hush was okay and upon seeing that he was and actually seemed quite happy too Shade softened a little and managed a trace of a smile. He turned back to Adam. “We found these... They’re Kim’s... I know it... Someone took her...” He sucked in a breath. “Spade’s gone to investigate further. I just need to... think. I’m sorry could... could you keep staying...?” He asked Adam hesitantly before spinning around and heading off to the bedroom where he would close Kim’s door somewhat forcefully and shut himself in there.

“However long you need. Don’t worry about it.“ He didn’t know what else to say, what else could he say? Though he wasn’t in a hurry to leave he just didn’t feel like he could do much. But at least Hush didn’t seem to hate him so that was something. He began putting up the remnants of the pizza and washing his hands as well as the plates and forks. “Hey Hush? You ever play chess?” He looked at him from over the bar.
Shade would have barely responded to Adam anyway no more than a grunt before he disappeared into the bedroom though he would feel horrible about it afterwards.
Hush was looking in Shade’s direction worriedly but when Adam asked him the question about chess Hush turned to him and shook his head slowly, and despite everything did look quite curious, if still a little wary.

Hush seemed willing and satisfied enough with that though he shook his head again but followed that up with a head tilt, hopefully communicating not that he didn’t want to try and learn chess now but that he didn’t know checkers either, he hadn’t really been exposed to that sort of thing. But he seemed happy to try what Adam was suggesting now.
((Alright give me a bit of time to prepare a post for Kim’s situation I’ll do it a bit later tonight. I’m assuming you probably need to go bed too anyway ;) ))

Meanwhile...
It would be another couple of hours before Kim would awake. When she she opened her eyes, she would find herself in what appeared to be an abandoned and dingy warehouse. Whatever it had been used for before was unclear but there was a musty smell about the place, and the harsh artificial lighting from the roof was poor, keeping the place pretty dim. Kim would find she was sitting on a chair, and her hands were tied behind her back. Her feet were also secured to the legs of her chair, with ropes wrapped tightly around her ankles. They hadn’t exactly positioned her very well so she might be a little sore in the back and neck and arms when she awoke.
The two burly men sat at a small round table apparently playing cards with each other, in Kim’s line of sight when she lifted her head.

Heart pounding she didn’t dare speak. Where... why did they being me here? Are they... going to interrogate me? She shivered involuntarily, having her restrained to a chair, at least in books and movies. Usually meant they wanted to ‘talk’, but... She didn’t know much of anything that wasn’t public knowledge. She kept turning her wrists this way and that. Trying to set them free.

((Ah, yes, make it there was a drug involved))
One of the men noticed Kim’s movements as she tried to struggle free and his features shifted into a smirk, then he turned. “Hey Severin! Girly is awake.” He called in a sinister, sing-song tone.
Somewhere deeper in the shadows unable to be seen before, there was a small noise and then Severin would appear in Kim’s vision. He seemed to study her intently. But perhaps Kim would notice he looked quite out of place compared to the other two. Big and brutish and in their late thirties at best, the two other men, Maxon and Xander, looked like the literal manifestation of brawn over brains. Meanwhile, Severin looked no older than 25. Lithe and sleek with neatly groomed black hair and stark green eyes. He looked more like the manager of some office corporation. Slowly Severin cocked his head as he regarded Kim and approached her. “Well, well, finally. Kim wasn’t it?” His tone was soft and sickeningly pleasant, in a bad way. Kim would recognise it as the same voice she would have heard behind her when she had the knife to her throat.

((Other than the head injury she is exactly as she had been in the alley? No scrapes or injuries or clothing alterations like dirty from being dragged or torn from the same?))
Severin blinked slowly and cocked his head. "I'm sure you're smarter than that. Think, girl. You're on the verge of convicting my father." He paced slowly in front of Kim all the while not taking his eyes off her, like a tiger studying it's prey. "We can't have that can we?"
((Yes she's exactly the same, nothing has happened to her. Yet.))
((Yes she's exactly the same, nothing has happened to her. Yet.))

Severin only seemed to snort, then a slow smirk spread across his face. "A little girl with a strong sense of justice. How adorable." He scoffed and shook his head before laying his snake-like gaze back on Kim. "But that's not why you're here. You're the one who set this all in motion, the reason my father and so many of his colleagues have their lives ruined. If not for you none of this would have happened." Severin gritted his teeth. "And for that, revenge must be served." Suddenly the knife appeared in his hand again, and with a lightning fast movement he stabbed the blade into Kim's chair, right next to her head. "The only reason you're still alive is because I wanted you to know and see, who kills you." Came Severin's snarl. "And feel it all. Otherwise what kind of revenge would anything different be?"
((It literally took me an hour to post this because I was overthinking and complicating the plan but I think I got it now whew XD ))

((It’s fine, I actually over thought my little post before yours XD))
Hush looked up at Adam as he spoke and seemed to study him warily for a long moment, not exactly cracking a smile at Adam’s jokes. As he asked to sit though Hush gave a nod and shifted to move over a little on the couch. He was acting shy as in keeping slumped and his knees being tucked to his chest, but unlike how shy people usually liked to look about and avoid eye contact, Hush’s gaze practically never moved from Adam, constantly watching. It was probably the one thing that maybe helped one to realise Hush didn’t seem to have autism or anything, his silence was by choice.
