Shade couldn't help grinning at seeing her blush again it was just an innocent reaction anyone might have when seeing someone else embarrassed. "Be sure to." He encouraged her cheerily.
Hush suddenly tapped on the desk to get his attention and Shade turned to him. Hush pointed to the laptop he held and tilted his head. Shade scoffed a laugh. "Stop doing that you look like a puppy." Hush had straightened for a moment, then at Shade's words he seemed to give him a look before tilting his head even more. The boy even seemed to smile slightly. Shade burst out laughing from a mix of the joy at seeing that and true amusement at the sight. When he finally recovered he eyed Hush. "Do you want to read it bud?" Hush gave a nod, then glanced at Kim. Shade turned to her as well. "Would you mind if he reads it too?" He asked.
Kim chuckled at their back and forth, they really were the cutest pair, she couldn’t get enough of watching them together. How Shade treated Hush was like he was his own child almost, even though they weren’t that far in age. He’ll make a food father. she blinked at the thought that came out of seemingly nowhere. Fortunately she was asked a question which brought her back into the present. “Of course, feel free. Makes me happy that someone else would want to read it let alone two people.“ She smiled brightly.((Haha yeah. But still! It would be hand for school work! XD ))

It was true Shade really saw Hush as a little brother, as if he was truly his very own little brother. It meant a lot to Hush as well, because though Shade didn't know it, he had never had any siblings to care about him so. Shade grinned as Kim said she was happy for Hush to read it and he carefully maneuvered the laptop to hand it over to Hush across the table. Hush took it carefully and then sat cross legged, eyes already glued to the screen and darting back and forth as he read.

((Haha! I typed good! Why does my phone do that! I didn’t even talk to text it! XD))Kim liked that she was now hitting her age groups, though like her creator Her technical target group was the 20 somethings and truth she knew because that’s how she go up that the teenagers liked the same kind of things I just for some reason work paid attention to like they should’ve been. So she was always targeting more the 12-year-olds to early 30s. It was a large group to target but she felt she related to that group more and that people didn’t realize just how much crossed over into those Age brackets.

Hush silently read through Kim's sample. He was a pretty quick reader from being so used to doing it after all, and he always preferred writing over speaking, even before he'd made his choice to become silent... So soon he was offering the laptop back to Kim.
Kim did some busy work so it wasn’t like she was just looking over and waiting in an annoying fashion, tidying up and finishing getting ready for bed including putting her phone on the charger. When she Saulet he was done she smile taking the laptop back. “I hope you liked it.” She moved to take the laptop keeping a partial attention on him I’m moving to shut down the laptop and let it take the rest the night off having saved her free writing.

Shade looked up in time to see the exchange and smiled himself before sitting up fully with a light groan. "Okay well perhaps it's time we hit the hay." He said casually.
Kim his eyes sparkled in the light. “Then I have to make sure that both of you get to read it when there’s more written.” Thought that she didn’t have more chapters written but those two have been edited more fully and we’re just about ready as opposed to the other thing she had going. Of a “good point it’s getting late. Sorry to keep both of you up.” She really did seem to be addicted to apologizing.((I had a counselor tell me to stop apologizing so much LOL and that I was limited to five a day, I still struggle with that! XD ))

Shade grinned. "Definitely!" He stretched and nodded before waving his hand at Kim. "Not at all it was our choice you didn't make us stay up. But yeah, better head to bed. Want to brush your teeth bud?" He said to Hush and the younger boy immediately got up and padded to the bathroom. Shade automatically grabbed the blankets and the pillows on the floor, setting them up for himself before grabbing one of the blankets and draping it over the couch for Hush.
((Kim could be like um what are you doing and he be like setting up for us to sleep out here and her being like no you're taking the bedroom! XD))
((yeah? It was especially embarrassing for me because my mom was there when he said that and she jumped on saying yeah you need to not say it so much XD ))Kim smiled as she watched Hush pitter pat across the floor into the bathroom. But then she heard the sound of him spreading out the covers. “Shade?” She tilted her head. “What’s up?” The confusion filled her tone as well as her expression as she stared at him. The message quite clear. ‘What on earth are you doing?’

Shade glanced up a little confusedly in response to the tone of Kim's voice and he glanced about uncertainly. Was he doing something wrong? "Erm, setting up for Hush and me to sleep. Sorry did I touch something I wasn't supposed to?" He asked, looking about once again.
Kim shook her head from side to side. “You’re supposed to be sleeping in the bedroom. “She didn’t mean it in a mean way but it did have a little bit of that tone that said something along the lines of, ‘Duh, didn’t you know that?’ “I’m gonna sleep out here on the couch. That way it’s more comfortable for you two.”

Kim shook her head from left to right. “It’s not a bother at all, and I think what matters is that everyone is more comfortable not just me. And I’m perfectly fine out here especially thanks to you getting the couch. Hush seems to like the bedroom much better.”

Kim was stubborn, that much could be true at times. In this matter, she wasn’t planning to budge. Hush was happier in the bedroom, it didn’t matter what he said. “No.” She gave a crooked smirk as she crossed her arms in front of her chest. As if to say. ‘Just try me’.

Kim chuckled at Shade’s antics. “Good!” She said firmly with an over exaggerated nod, just adding to the silliness of the moment. However he features softened as she moved towards the couch. “I really want you both to be comfortable, really, comfortable. I know you are trying to stay out of the way, but as I said earlier. This is your home now too. So, don’t feel bad about actually asking for things or have preferences. It’s okay to not be ‘happy’ about everything to... or like my cooking for that matter.” Basically she was just asking him to be completely honest. Not that she was saying he hadn’t but he didn’t need to look at the world through rose colored sunglasses. And she was suspicious that her food really wasn’t that great they just had very poor examples to compare it to.

Hush seemed to give him a look and frowned with the barest trace of annoyance as he reached up to fix his hair, then glanced at Kim uncertainly and presuming she gave him some sort of signal to do so he would turn and head to the bedroom.
It was a good thing that they were interrupted because she didn’t know how to respond to that. She was learning quick that he was not want to do debates with, she was considered her self intellectual and very logical but he had a way of turning logic on her and that made it a bit difficult to counter. Though in truth maybe she wasn’t as logical as she like to say she may have appreciated logic but sometimes you just had to go with the feelings not with hard facts. That’s why she trusted the instinct that said to invite them.She tried to hold in a chuckle as Hush seemed bothered by the way he messed up his hair. She shook her head from side to side and when he looked at her she smiled warmly. “If you need anything else in there feel free to come in here and get it there’s extra cushions and blankets. Make yourself as comfortable as possible.” She encouraged hopefully motivating him to go into the bedroom and set up however he needed while she leaned back on the couch and even moved to lay across it her knees bent not hanging off at the moment as she just breathe slowly relaxing. I have been a while since you felt this good, the house wasn’t empty and scary to her. She always had wanted to get some kind of animal companion and friend but she didn’t know if she could feed him or her so she never dare take even a stray in. Now she had two roommates and one of them could turn into animals. She smiled at the thought different ideas imaginings moving about their her head and she stared at the ceiling. It was something she like to do I was relaxing sort of release from reality.

Shade brushed his teeth and splashed his face, even though that was kind of counter productive since it sort of woke him up. But it made him feel better. He ducked out to check and realised Hush had already retreated to the bedroom, and so he gave Kim a wave. “Well, good night.” He called lightly.
Kim knew that, Hush May never truly be comfortable around her but hopefully he could understand that her intentions were never malicious even if he was always hesitant to be around her or especially alone with her. She lifted her head when she heard the voice and smiled. “Good night…“ She lowered her back once again against the sofa a quiet slow yawn stretching her jaw. She was just so very tired. However, she was also really happy. Now if her dreams could just lineup. Didn’t take long before she drifted off.

Kim went into one of those deep sleeps, the ones that just suck you in and are hard to wake from. Which is a testimony to a lot of good because she normally would go into a deep sleep quite like this. She didn’t like the term dead sleep, but it did fit the description. She was typically a little more restless maybe the fact that there were people in the apartment with her actually made her feel safer.

((She should wake up. she’s like me and there seems to be either this innate instinct in either women or just in my family because when someone’s in distress we seem to just wake up like we sent it. Especially if there’s a whimper or something high-pitched kind of noise even if it’s not that loud she will definitely wake up! Actually reminds me of what they said on big bang theory that women instinctively wake up when they hear a certain pitch range LOL that’s how they always wake up for the baby so the guys were talking in this deep baritone voice XD))

((don’t worry about it, I understand you have things you need to do and get done post when you’re able I haven’t been on much today either. Still haven’t some of the issues we talked about healthwise so not sure how much of any of the things I wanted to get done get done this weekend))

Shade was dreaming, he seemed to be in an alleyway clouded with fog. His heart pounded against his chest as he couldn’t really see, let alone see anyone coming, and he felt as if someone was about to jump out and attack. Then he felt something crash into his stomach and he gasped. Someone punching him? Trying to wind him? But then Shade woke with a start, and he realised it had been Hush kicking him in the stomach. His surrogate little brother was tossing and whimpering in his sleep. Shade inhaled sharply and immediately moved to shake him gently. “Hush? Hush?” Hush’s eyes flew wide open and he sat bolt upright with a gasp, wild with fright before he huddled into himself. Shade grimaced and immediately moved to wrap his arms around Hush. One would think touching the boy straight after he’d woken from a nightmare wasn’t the best idea, but Hush seemed to know that it was him and seemed to derive some sort of comfort. But it seemed this one had been particularly bad. The boy shook and shuddered and started to sob into Shade’s shoulder. By this point, a certain someone was likely watching through the slightly open door... And these were the first sounds she would have heard coming from Hush. Tiny, soft little whimpers and gasps.
Shade felt his jaw clench and hugged the boy tightly. “Shhhh shhhhhh shhhh... It’s okay... It’s okay...” He whispered softly, starting to rock him gently. He kept one arm wrapped around Hush while he stroked the other gently through his hair. "You're alright... I'm not going to let anything hurt you..."

((Thanks! And I am, much better! ^_^ ))Kim had heard something, but you didn’t know quite what it was. And as someone who is stirred from a very deep sleep typically reacts you feel very heavy and disoriented. Confused and sluggish. However she found her self rising as she heard “Hush? Hush?” She already had very good hearing and now that she was resting her sleep she slightly stumbled towards the noise looking at the gap in the door she froze at the site. Her sleepiness soon cast off. Her eyes beginning to hurt her chest aching she watched and listened to the way Shade worked to comfort the poor young man.
Her body tensed and she had to fight the urge to make a noise her eyes starting to burn with the tears she wanted to hold back. She didn’t have a right to cry he was the one who was suffering, prep she was just so empathetic. The pathetic being the operative word she needed to be stronger wasn’t like she could go in there and comfort anyone either one of them would want a woman to comfort them. That horrible place made sure of that… She clenched her jaw. She will do everything in her power to shut them down for good! Though she should’ve walked away she kept watching, frozen at the sight.

A shudder wracked Hush’s body and Shade tightened his hold, bundling the boy closer to him and resting his chin atop his head. “It’s alright... It’s alright...” he continued to soothe gently, though he knew the words were almost dismal. Of course it wasn’t alright, that Hush had had to go through that, that it was having a terrible impact even now... Shade sighed inwardly. It would probably never be alright. “You’re okay...” he whispered again, continuing to rock Hush. Then after a moment, he opened his mouth and started to sing.
Hush little one now don’t say a word,
Or I will turn into a bird,
You’re here with me you’re safe and sound,
I’ll make sure nothing bad’s around.
I am here for you I protect,
There’s no danger I can’t detect,
You’re here with me you’re safe and sound,
You and me our hearts are bound.
Another of his mother’s personal lullabies to him when he’d been in a child, and then he’d heard her continue to sing it to all his younger siblings. A mother’s efforts to comfort and promise their child to always protect them as they soothed them to sleep. But he had often sung it to his younger siblings too, his promise as an older brother to protect them as well. And now of course it was the same with Hush. The second line was an attempt to make one laugh or feel better, in which Shade pulled back slightly and tried to meet Hush’s gaze with a smile, hands cupping the side of his face gently, and then he just returned to the embrace as he continued the song.
Hush’s sobbing seemed to subside if ever so slightly until he was just shaking a little and crying silently. But eventually his tears slowed too...

Kim’s chest began to ache, her throat threatened to close. She had to back up, her whole body shaking. Shade’s kindness, his song and poor Hush. It was too much for her. Emotions, memories, and empathy. It all swirled around in a violent storm threatening to consume her whole. She somehow made it back to the sofa to collapse on it.Her mind reeled, her feelings went on a rollercoaster ride and before she knew it. She had a blanket over her head, like when she was a child. As if attempting to shut out the world. Tucking her knees up to her chest, she began to cry, her face blood red as she restrained it as much as humanly possible. Wanting to be silent. In fact the only noise she made was a quiet sniffing and the rapid intakes of air one has when weeping vehemently.
Her own creator has experienced moments like this, the blanket is a way to go somewhere that feels ‘private’ and that child mentality of ‘safe’. Having one of those ugly cries, where your nose runs and your face makes horrible expressions. You later might even feel disgusted with yourself. She began to rock back and forth. She wanted to shout with outrage, scream in anger and whimper and whine as she cried. Yet she did nothing. As always, force it to remain hidden, at least as much as possible...

Kim remained in her current emotional state for far longer than she should have, but eventually fell asleep from emotional exhaustion. She ended up laying on her side, her head still covered by the blanket. The cover and spot on the couch drenched in her tears. When she at last did wale up, it was again because lf a noise, one she didn’t even try to place this time. She struggled slightly trying to get out of the blanket cocoon she had made, and as a result... slid ofd the couch. “Ow...” She groaned. This day was not off to a good start. Her eyes were puffy and red, there were mild shadows under her eyes as well. She looked either that she had gotten sick with possibly a horrible sinus infection or allergy acting up, or like she had been crying all night.((All good, thanks for telling me. I’m glad you made it ^_^))
She at last threw the blanket off of her head.

Hush remained silent of course but his eyes darted as if nervous. Shade gave him a small kind, smile. “It’s alright bud you can stay, nothing bad about it and you don’t have to apologise. I’ll get you your breakfast okay?” Hush gave him a grateful look and with that Shade headed out to the kitchen. Though the first thing he noticed was Kim on the floor instead of the couch. His face slackened with surprise and concern and he approached her. “Hey are you alright there?”
Fortunately any tears were dry on her face but as she threw it off and made eye contact with him she was completely unaware how much she look like she had had some kind of allergic reaction. “Uh... yeah...” She croaked. Great all that straining to keep from making a noise and made her throat messed up now. She could hardly talk. clearing her throat someone awkwardly and trying to scramble off the floor. “Just need a shower…“ She squeaked at the end of her statement and wanted to run and hide with how ridiculous she sounded one minute she was a frog the next she was a mouse.Shade was supposed to be the only one who turned into animals around here. She certainly wasn’t trying to steal his gig.

Kim of course hadn’t realized where his train of thought had gone. As she looked at the blanket a bit perplexed at his question. “Um... I don’t know...” yeah it wasn’t the best of responses but she didn’t know what to say. She had many things in here and maybe not all of them had she used. She didn’t know why he was asking. “But I’m fine...” Her voice still sounded strange and maybe a little horse, and unless he tried to stop her she would keep clearing her throat and massage it with her hand as she walked towards the bathroom nice hot shower would surely help maybe she had some tea still in the cabinets in that time she splurged and bought some.

Kim though she had her back towards him had to turn around and hug him. It was a silly instinct but the way he seemed concerned about her was so incredibly sweet. I gave that warm feeling in her chest. However she realize now that something must’ve looked really bad about her for him to be this concerned and saying it look like an allergic reaction. “I do? Well I’m sure it’s nothing a shower can’t clear up.“ She turned around and offered him a genuine smile which probably looked bad because of how bad she looked in the moment but she vanished into the bathroom and stared in the mirror for the longest of heartbeats. “ good gravy…“ Was all she mattered before cranking the water on hot and steaming her self hoping to get rid of the residual affects of all the crying last night. It would be a lie to say she had never done this before. She knew certain tricks to take this nice hot cross relaxing bath would help open up her pores that she would put lotion on fortunately She did have some. Of course drying off first and then putting a cold cloth damp under each eye and holding it there for about 20 seconds. I didn’t get rid of the effects but it certainly made them less visible and comforted her dry eyes.

Kim blushed a shade of red that she had never before when he winked at her, already she was abashed from the praise, but this. “I-I will!” She grinned, choking out the words with a bit of a struggle.
