Question from Newbie

I'm new to the Read Harder Challenge and to Goodreads, so apologies if this has been answered or is the wrong place to ask, BUT, is there a way to digitally track my progress as I complete the tasks? Either here on Goodreads or somewhere else? Thanks for the help!

I usually create a custom shelf on Goodreads for the year's challenge, and sort books into it as I finish them. I also put a note in the review about what category each book fulfilled. That way I can see all my challenge reads in one place. Not sure if there's anything else out there that serves this purpose.

You can also add your list under 2019 Read Harder Challenge Plans keeping track of each task.

Another easy way provided by Book Riot is this reading tracker spreadsheet which I use to tally up everything I read over the year. You put in the book and then which number it fulfills and then it fills in the Read Harder list for you.

I also use bookshelf tags to keep track of what Im reading for all of the challenges I'm doing.

Lots of people use personal spreadsheets, so thats another possibility.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I don't think I'll be mapping out all my books in advance but that's a good suggestion to keep track of some I may know I definitely want to do.

And I finished my first challenge today, which is what made me think of how to keep track digitally! It was #18. A novel by a trans or nonbinary author, and yes I read "All the Birds in the Sky". Been meaning to for awhile. It was a great read.

I may be misunderstanding your question, but if you're asking about double-dipping, you can just enter the book in both cells. The spreadsheet only checks to see if there's text in the cell.

Is anyone else having problems with this? If I download it as an Excel spreadsheet, it seems to malfunction, but if I copy it to my Google documents it tells me I can only view, not make any changes and I need to contact the creator!

Judith, I had that problem, but I made a copy of the file and saved it to my own Drive and then it worked fine.

I see that I'm late to the discussion, but in case anyone is still looking, Book Riot has a downloadable PDF with all the 2019 tasks that you can fill in on your computer! That's what I've been using.
