Snomer's card will go out next week, as I'm out of Tallinn for the time being.
Say hello to 2019 with a card to a fellow PenPal Reader!
Here's how it works
- Sign up below to participate. Include where you are from (ie. signing up - Austin, TX)
- Send a message to the person ABOVE you in the sign-up, to give them your name and full address (and any preferences for card/letter/postcard etc). They will send you a card.
- When someone signs up BELOW you, they will message you their address, and you will send them a card.
- Update your post (using 'Edit' function) to add dates you sent your card, and to confirm receipt of the card sent to you. (ie. Feb 20 - sent my card to JayneEyre; Feb 25 - received my card from NeilGaiman)
Guidelines:
- your 'card' can be a card, a postcard,a letter etc
- your card can be purchased or handmade
- you can choose to include a bookmark, stickers, small memorabilia (completely optional, just if you want to)
- you can write a sentence or two, or a paragraph, or more - up to you!
Writing Prompts:
- your reading goals for the year ahead
- the best book you read last year
- the book you are most excited to read this year
- a favorite genre, author, series
- a favorite tv show, movie, song, sport, hobby etc
- what you love most about where you live
- a poem, song, short story, or illustration you made
and so on....
Timing:
- Sign-up is open now through Feb 28th.
- Cards should be mailed out by mid March latest.
Reminders:
- Be wary giving out your address - stay safe: Do NOT include your address in the sign-up thread. We also recommend you do not give your address to anyone in close geographic proximity as you. Check you are signing-up below a member from a different location/country.
- Be mindful and respectful with your choice of words or pictures. We are a group of ALL ages, nationalities, genders, interests, etc.
- Only sign-up if you're confidant you will have the time to write and send a card between now and mid-March
Credits - We've borrowed this easy-to-manage format for this activity from the wonderful group 'The Postcard Exchange' - if you like sending/receiving postcards, be sure to check out that group too!
